LL, I was at that game too. I didn't leave when RW threw an INT with 5 minutes left.
So yes, we owe you but we would rather owe you than cheat you out of it.
Yet, I am not too confident in this weeks game.

The long term forecast for the game will favor Seattle or I should say will not be a big dissavantage as they say it is suppose to be warmer than normal with temps next Sunday with a high of 32 and a low of 29 so the temps will not drop much once it gets dark. That is like beach weather in the middle of Jan in GB. You do not even need to wear gloves at the game

Son's dragging my Bears Fan Ass up to Lambeau on Sunday... He asked me what I was going to wear... Told him, "all black, i'm in mourning for the past season".

Enjoy the party even if your rival is taking the main stage. Be funny, sarcastic and/or self-loathing about the rivalry/season and most Packer fans will want to share brews with you.

Yea, I'm no jerk about sports... It is just a game and I enjoy (I think my son does as well) the back and forth we have about the Bear v Pack rivalry and yes, he's a Packers fan. Who knew, when a Bear fan marries a Dolphin fan you end up with a Packers fan... Go figure. I might have chosen a wife differently.

I married a Lions fan. My son turned out to be a Packers fan, but also a Falcons fan. :noidea:

At least he's not a Vikings fan. :puke:

Aaron Rodgers really deserves another ring. One, considering his abilities and career, just doesn't seem right. I feel the same about Drew Brees... These two future HoF'rs have gotten cheated somehow.

Rings are a team accomplishment. Both QBs just didn't have complete teams around them throughout their careers or their teams weren't hot at the right time. While I certainly would've liked to see Rodgers or Brees holding the Lombardi instead of Eli Manning, Nick Foles and Joe Flacco, I don't hold it against them.

Personally, I feel more cheated about never getting to see a Rodgers-Brady or Brees-Brady Super Bowl or even a Rodgers-Brees NFC Championship game. Throughout all the greatness of this era with those three QBs, they never got close to the Brady-Manning-level of rivalry showdown.

I will be there as well but make the trip from Madison up on charter buses and head back home after. Are you heading back after or were you able to find reasonable rooms? Word is they jacked up the room prices of course

Found a room about an hour out. Will drive over around noon. I'll be the DD depending on the kids level of "enjoyment".
Edit; Never been up to Lambeau. Hold it in the same regard as Wrigley Field, it was on the bucket list of places to go. Just didn't expect it to be a playoff game.

I-41. Any helpful hints?
I live just off I-41 about an hour south of Lambeau. For playoff games and Gold Package games (Milwaukee season ticket holders), northbound traffic can get pretty heavy on game days. Sometimes dead stops. You're heading up pretty early, so you should be fine, but I'd still recommend checking traffic on Google Maps app or something like that. There are plenty of alternative routes if the main arteries get clogged.

Also, when you get to the Green Bay area, don't take Oneida St. It's the most direct path to Lambeau from the south, but there's usually bumper-to-bumper traffic all the way there and there's stop lights on nearly every intersection. I take 41 to Ashland Ave. - before Oneida St. The traffic flows MUCH smoother and faster with a lot less stops. It flows smoothly all the way to Lombardi Ave.

If you don't mind walking, you can snag easy access & escape free parking in the residential areas on the north side of Lombardi Ave. - that's what I usually do.

As RP said if you are heading up getting there around noon you should not have much trouble with traffic. But in the event that you do one route I often take on the bus or if I am driving myself is to exit at Ballard Rd on the north side of Appleton and head north on Ballard road to Hwy E. Then turn right on Hwy E as it heads pretty much parallel with 41 going through the town on Freedom. Once you get up to Hwy 172 you then take that east towards Green Bay past the Ramada Hotel/Casino and Green Bay airport and you are right on the south end of Green Bay

Heading to your hotel after can be a pain right after the game. If you are leaving right after the game I have a few ways to avoid some of it. Some people just hang at some bars until traffic clears. Many times I go to the casino and play blackjack awhile and let traffic clear out

I-41. Any helpful hints?

THings have changed up a bit since last night with the now predicted weather. They are saying 8" to 12" of snow starting Saturday and ending early Sunday morning. With the game starting at 5:40pm it should not be a factor for the playing of the game as from what I have seen so far is the snow will not be happening during game time.

The issue will be getting close to 80,000 fans through heavy snow up to Green Bay while trying to clear the roads of snow. Are you heading to your hotel in Saturday night and then heading to the stadium from there about an hour away? Or are you leaving from your home Sunday morning and heading all the way up and getting there around noon?

If you were planning on leaving early Sunday morning it may work best to head up on Saturday and be closer so the drive is not so bad on Sunday. My group of 2 charter buses is leaving Madison around noon on Sunday. Hopefully if the snow ends around 6am that they can have the roads somewhat cleared by the time we leave but our group is allowing extra travel time.

When snow comes to Lambeau Field always ask people to show up to clear the snow out of the stadium usually they need 600 to 700 people for several hours to get it cleaned out. They are asking for 700 people to help clear it out at 6am Sunday morning to get it cleaned out and ready for the 5:40pm game. To help make the game more comfortable I definitely recommend a seat cushion as you will be sitting on aluminum benches and best to have something between you and the cold metal with 20 degree temps. In cold weather many people as well as I bring a piece of Styrofoam to stand on to keep your boots off the cold cement. Many bring a square piece maybe an inch or so thick to put under your feet and it does help Shovelers needed at Lambeau Field Sunday morning

As far as parking as I never pay for parking and do what RP 29 said and just park in the neighbor hoods to the north of Lambeau FIeld and north of Lombardi Ave. There are just regular neighborhoods and free parking on the streets but the longer you wait to park the farther you have to park from the stadium. Near the stadium people will park cars in their yards. Close to the stadium it is usually about $30 a spot as you get farther away it is lower from $15 to $20 a spot.

It will be interesting to see just where all this snow is going to be put around the stadium and at those peoples houses who park cars in their yards and all these people will be snow blowing their yards so that they can get the cars parked in their yards. Usually when you snow blow your driveway you put it in your yard to clear the driveway but they cant do that if they want the parking. it should be interesting

If you are able to get there around noon there are several things to keep you busy. There is a pro shop on the lower level on the northeast corner of the stadium. If your son would like to see the Packer Hall of Fame they do have it open on game day. It is inside Lambeau Field and is open from 1:40pm until kickoff. The only additional requirement though to see the Hall of Fame on game day is that you also have to have a ticket to the game. This is because they do not want people without game tickets to get in the Hall of Fame and then be able to sneak into the stadium. Hours

There are many bars in the area where you can get food and also watch the early game if you care to to that. There is also a new development called Title Town which is just on the west side of the stadium there is quite a bit to do over there and a new place called "The Hinterland" which is a bar that brews their own beer. There are usually bands out there as well.

The location where my group parks is always in the parking lot of a place called "Krolls West" it is a restaurant that has a big game day set up with food and beer and a band playing outside as well. My group gets there usually about 2 hours before game time. If you are over that way I will get you and your son a beer :suds:

There is also a big enclosed place where you can get out of the cold and have beers and brats and food in a place called tailgate village in the parking lot on the east side of the stadium. They have TVs as well in there to watch the early game and is quite a big place.

After the game traffic can be a pain and is usually best to just chill at a bar and eat dinner and wait for people to head out. If I am driving on my own I usually go to the Oneida casino and play blackjack for several hours before I head back home. To get there I usually take Lombardi Ave which is on the north side of the stadium west until it dead ends and then turn left and you are fairly close to the casino.

I am sure you both will enjoy it. Hopefully the snow storm will not mess things up to much

Flying in to Milwaukee on Saturday AM I hope. Rented a 4x4, got to visit family, maybe in Madison, then drive up to the hotel in the Oshkosh area. Head up Sunday. We fly out Monday, we hope. Thanks for the info. Looking forward to the adventure.

Have a good trip! Did not know you were flying so am guessing not bringing seat cushions but you can rent them once you get in the stadium it is a seat with a seat back to it for like $6. They are set up to rent near where you enter the stadium and get your tickets scanned

Enjoyed the trip up to Lambeau! Fulfilled my expectation, including the snow post game. Only seems fitting. Kept a low profile, everyone was great. A playoff atmosphere is different folks were really into it. Kid had a blast. Good luck going forward.

PS: Thanks for the helpful hints. Soot on.
