I was more interested in the article below at your link. 5-star cager named "Omaha Biliew" visited Fred Hoiberg in Lincoln.

Not a fan of it, but if they decide to do this so be it.
It'd be a lot more entertaining if the Power-5 and Group of 5 had a separate playoff. I'm not a big proponent of the David vs Goliath thing.

I don't like it, but COVID changed everything, and these schools need to generate more money. So it makes sense.

Fuck yea. Let's do it.

Doesn't that financially hurt the top 4 teams? The next 4 teams would get a home playoff game. I imagine that game would be a HUGE payday for the home team and give amazing access to their fans. (although I imagine they would have to split much of it though)

I'm sure there will be some level of revenue sharing.

I imagine so, but it does seem that having a home playoff game would be a pretty awesome thing. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather my team have a first round bye. It just seems that having a home playoff game would be a HUGE deal for the home team...even in revenue sharing and the top 4 team wouldn't get that. I guess that is just what you have to do if you have a 12 team playoff. :noidea:

Haven’t seen if they will conduct like the NFL and reseed after “Play In” or “Wild Card” - Or keep it in a true bracket form.

I imagine, for bowl ticket sales, they will promote the top 4 teams at their specific bowls. I would think they would also pre-determine where the winners will play too and just have tickets available to both schools playing in the first round. It seems like it would make it easier for travel for those teams fan bases.

More concerned about those LSU vs Savannah State early season games, those need to stop.

4 teams is all we need in the playoffs. Don't need more.

always figured it would be 8, but this has some logic behind it. Certainly would eliminate the complaint of having meaningless games late as many feared with expansion. who would risk either having a bye or a home game with a loss late in season?

It should be 8. I really wonder how the players feel about possibly playing 3 more games. CFB is kind of a grind for them, might see a surprising number of opt-outs from the draftworthy.

At 12 teams, those that play in the first round that make it to the championship game - if that should happen - would have played 4 extra games!

Yeah, that's too much. If you're a top-tier player, are you really going to risk playing an extra 4 games that may cost you millions?

I said 8 before, but the problem they're trying to address would realistically only require 6 teams, as it's unlikely #7 or lower is the best team in the country. Seed the top two, and they get byes, then 3-6, 4-5 and winner advances. This means at most two teams are going to play 3.

12 teams is beyond stupid.

We would not only get rematches, but teams meeting each other a 3rd time.

With the current 4 game format, people are getting bored with the numerous blowouts we currently have. What do you think a 12 team format will produce?

For every Cinderella, there is 20 or more complete beatdowns of inferior competition.

I get that people want more inclusion, but do you really believe a "Mid-Major" like Boise State in '06 or UCF in '17 could run a gauntlet of 4 games against legit competition?

We already have P5 Championship games to weed out the rep for each conference. Why the need to go any further than 4 and upwards of 6?
