I am searching for a list of players, who bet on themselves, and won. Guys who were injured, low balled, not given contract offers, etc. Guys who bet on themselves and won. Tell me about it. I know there are alot of them out there.

A guy like Kirk Cousins, say what you want about him. But Kirk bet on himself, he won MASSIVELY getting 84 million guaranteed over 3 years. CRAZY. Also now, gets a two year extension worth 66million.

He definitely won.

Vice Versa guys who bet on themselves and lost, who you got..........like Melvin Gordon

thats a good one, i didnt look what were contract details

I didn't even take his contract into consideration. But going from grocery bagger to the Pro Football Hall of Fame qualifies no matter what the contract.

In a way, you could say Teddy Bridgewater did okay. He was content to sit as a backup to Brees until the right offer came along and is set up pretty good thanks to that Brees injury. Not sure where the Panthers are headed in the forseeable future but Teddy did okay all things considered.

Not sure what you mean by gambled on themselves and lost. I mean these two guys got paid pretty good but once they did, they were shells of themselves.

Albert Haynesworth and CJ2K.

ok, so melvin gordon sat out, turned down more guaranteed money and higher base pay, plays poorly, and gets a lesser deal. He bet on himself doing great and getting more money, he lost, lev bell did too

thats a good one too. how about byron jones
guess I dont know your parameters.
I dont think he ever turned down a contract or opportunity. (maybe he did) Think it was just his time & he scored.

Cousins & Dak actually bet on themselves instead of caving in to their teams.

The Original Hired Gun. Deion Sanders.

In a time everyone was looking for the long ass contracts. Deion kept going with the short term contracts as a hired gun.
Went to the Niners got his ring & turned around & jumped ship to the Cowboys & got another. In the end raped the skins for even more money.

I could be wrong. but not that I am aware of.
Cowboys knew he was leaving once he became a FA. he was gonna ask for more than they would pay him. So not to sure there was ever a time he said no to the Cowboys (to bet on himself)
