Players Opt Out of the 2020 Season

The NFL and NFLPA came to a number of agreements that were announced Friday night.

One of those agreements is that players may opt out of the 2020 season due to exposure to the Coviud-19 Virus. Some players are known to have compromising medical issues and others do not want the exposure. "High Risk" players will receive a $350,000 league stipend and "Low Risk" players will receive $150,000. Not sure what the difference is, but I'm sure we will learn that big names are high risk and unknowns are low risk.

None the less the first player to officially opt out of the season is Kansas City Chiefs starting guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif will sit out the season, he announced Friday night on Twitter. Players could opt out of this coming season as part of a deal the players union negotiated and finalized with the league.

On Monday I started getting some very painful headaches. My legs felt like I was going threw a growth spurt. Super painful. A slight cough. Not bad but then all my smell and taste just went away. Wife felt the same way. Made appointments for us to get tested. Neither one of us has/had a temperature and our lungs were at 98%. Those were the 2 main/worse symptoms and we were golden! So I figured is was just going to be a good old fashioned cold. I was very surprised to find out it got me. I’m a complete germaphobe and homebody. Besides work, I only go out to the grocery store. Probably where I got it.
But I’m feeling great. All symptoms have gone. Even got my smell and taste back. I got lucky.

If you’re gonna pass up close to a million dollars minimum because of Covid for $150k then you’re flat lazy. I will give the benefit of the doubt to high risk players but damn, for that kinda money my ass would play.

I am of the opinion that all players should OPT Out. To hell with one season the worlds health is a lot more important than any game.
