I thought he was the top receiver, several times.
I can only assume because you were watching highlights only.

He could make some killer catches from time to time.
Cowboy fans were wishing/believing his potential (which he had tons of) was reality.

Which wasnt true. Even when some of those fan come here to talk stats to disprove my comments.
The guy was very much flawed WR his whole career. Even when he had good stats. Whoever our #1 Wr was was gonna have good stats with Romo.

Dez Bryant!!!
Cowboy fans at one point that he was a top 5 WR.

GTFO!!!

Great example. Dez is nothing more than what Greg Jennings was with Favre/Rodgers: a good WR in his main prime years who was able to be greatly elevated by having a top-tier QB throwing to him (not that Romo was as good as Favre or Rodgers, but he was still very good none the less). It's no coincidence that Dez hasn't done anything since Tony Romo's career was derailed by injury after 2014. I have no idea how more people don't see that.

Barry Sanders is honestly the only guy I can think off off the top of my head from the whole history of the Lions other than Calvin Johnson and Stafford. Oh, and that one kicker who played for them for like 40 years awhile back, he was cool too.

I am not sure (on any level) where you could consider Barry Sanders overrated?
Unless you think Lion fans are saying he is by far #1 & you think he is just top 5.

I am pretty sure that isnt what overrated is for.

No no, you misunderstand. I'm not calling Barry overrated, not in the least bit. He's among the absolute greatest RB's to have ever played the game, and there's no debating that. I was just talking crap to our good friend @broncosmitty by saying he's one of the very few Lions players from their whole franchise's history that I can readily recall off the top of my head, even despite the fact that they're a division rival to the Vikings.

In fact, Barry IS the Lions to this very day. I'd even go as far as to call him the Kevin Garnett (as he was to the Minnesota Timberwolves) of the Detroit Lions.

Tim Tebow. There are still some Bronco fans out there that think Elway made a huge mistake by trading Tebow and signing Manning. They always want to point to his one playoff victory as proof the kid was going to be something special but no one would give him a chance. There is a reason so many teams watched this kid for a second and knew he would never be a starting QB and never could even be a backup because you would have to have two different playbooks in the works.

I heard someone say this on the radio the other day and him and the Hall of Fame would've never crossed my mind in a milion years.

I don't really have a good answer for the OP. The Browns have been bad for so long it is hard to answer this question.

Me either and I really like the guy, esp his toughness. True homerism at it's finest

Jimmy Graham, to me possibly the most over-rated TE I've ever watched. I remember some arguments on the old ESPN boards where idiots were actually thinking he was better than Gronk.
Brian Bosworth, yeah the kid had some talent but he was the most over hyped average player I ever saw. Hell, I even cheered when Bo ran him over like a semi running over a baby deer.

I can think of some 1st round picks that were way overrated. Tim Couch (# 1 overall), Brady Quinn (# 22), Brandon Weeden (# 22), Johnny Manziel (# 22). And yes I hate the # 22 now. Hopefully they never pick from that spot again.
