Iceland - keeps moving the goalpost. Originally mid-June with negative covid test on arrival, now they are delaying
US citizens from coming in. We don't know when we will be allowed in

Europe - pretty much the EU wants all US travelers banned until ????? If you want to go, check each country.

Egypt - open to US. Mainly Red Sea & South Sinai resorts & some archaeological sites. But, honestly, the country
is in a covid mess, hospitals overflowing, doctors dying. Think hard about this one.

UAE - opening July 7 with negative PCR rest w/in 96 hours before arrival. Plus health insurance. Plus more
The airport is open for transit passengers so long as they do not leave the terminal

Seychelles - opening in August, US citizens not included at this point

Africa - pretty much nothing open at this point

India - closed at this point

Thailand - will probably be in a travel bubble with other countries

Maldives - open July 15

South Korea - still closed, I think

Australia, New Zealand - closed

South Pacific (Fiji, Solomons, New Caledonia, etc) - closed

Malaysia - closed

Micronesia - closed

French Polynesia - opening July 15 with negative covid test w/in 72 hours of travel

Hong Kong - closed but airport open for transit passengers

Singapore - still appears to be closed but Changi airport open for transit passengers. Cannot exit terminal or visit The Jewel

Japan - still closed to US. Can't find any current info on Narita for transit

Taiwan - still not open

Philippines - think it's still closed but Manila airport may be open for transit

Indonesia - Also considering a travel bubble. Talk of Bali opening up by fall. The rest of the country is a mess

Sri Lanka - opening Aug 1, must have valid negative covid w/in 72 hours & stay minimum of 5 days

South American - pretty much closed everwhere.

If I missed your favorite country, LMK.

Canada is mainly open. We are operating in phases.

BC just put open phase 3 on Wednesday, I think.

Basically it means if you have a group under 50 people. You are golden.

Phase 4, 50+ gathering, is not available till either it is wiped out of BC, I think, or Vaccine is developed and made available to the public.

Couple of updates

Changi Airport, Singapore, is NOT open to US passengers, even to transit. This straight from Singapore Airlines

Emirates Airlines will now require a negative PCR test valid within 96 hours of travel for certain countries, including the US. As of this point it's limited to travel originating from certain airports in mainly Ca, Tx and Fl.

Additionally any traveler originally from those locations are included regardless of travel origination.

Just love that blue one in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

The only problem is you have to really do your homework to see who's flying to places.

Example, we are getting to Maldives via Emirates via Dubai. But I'd normally take Singapore Air thru Changi to Maldives but Changi not open to US citizens.

The Caribbean not so much an issue but if you plan any other places, like Maldivrs or French Polynesia, it's a lot of research to find out which airports allow transit, then if they allow US citizens to transit.

A lot of jumping off points used to be Hawaii but not anymore.

You should still be able to connect through Hawaii, right?

I thought you were just supposed to quarantine once you left the airport

Took 14 forever to locate anything on transit.

Yes, if you are transiting on the same day and do not leave the airport, you arent required to quarantine.

Dont take that as gospel and I didnt stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

The tough part is some of the airports are open for transit but dont TELL you which countries they are closed to.

I had to call Singapore Air to find out Changi closed to US citizens. Nada on any website I can find.
