If Tavares signed in San Jose, this one would be 31.
But he didn't, did he? He signed in Toronto. Where he wanted to be more than anywhere else, because who wouldn't?

They also purged old man Lou and his tag-along band of useless old-school GERRRT guys so even by virtue of doing absolutely nothing Dubas & Co. would be getting high marks right now from their fans.

Wikipedia said:
Yzerman had expressed his desire to run a team while with the Red Wings front office since the latter part of his playing career, and had gained experience in running a team through his work with Hockey Canada, having assembled several rosters between 2007 and 2010 for Hockey Canada. However, after Red Wings General Manager Ken Holland, the team's GM since 1997, was given a contract extension to continue in his role, and with his path to GM also blocked by Assistant General Manager Jim Nill, who himself had been given another long-term deal, it became clear that it would not be with the Red Wings. It was later revealed by The Detroit News in 2016 that Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch attempted to promote Holland to make room for Yzerman to become the team's General Manager, but Holland declined the promotion.

Hmmmm....yes, only in Pittsburgh can fans of a team of a management group who has won two titles in their four years on the job dip like that.

I fully expect the pitchforks to be out for everyone if they don't win the Cup in 2018-19.

Is that you, Drew Doughty?

Nope I'm Austin Matthews waiting for my contract to end so I can go to a real team.

BTW I am trolling and would rather see the Leafs win then the Bruins or Lightning from that division.

No worries. I lol'ed before reading the spoiler :suds:

And I have a nagging, sinking feeling about AM34 and the desert he calls home

He can make his money back if he opens a pitchfork store.
