Pittsburgh at Washington GNT

Always a fun rivalry game, even though we all know the Penguins won't be making the playoffs this year.

It's sad, but I imagine they'll struggle as a franchise for years in the future. But you guys should try and enjoy the dying gasps of a really successful team.

Anyhow, let's not get too far into the future, let's take a look at the past...

A little chippy in the early going, but few opportunities for either side so far.

Wilson destroyed Oleksiak in that fight. Ugly.

That fight was one sided and really looked like Wilson was hunting for him. Truly would have thought it to be the other way.

Anyway it was a good first period after that and hopefully it will stay fast pace with the pressure on both ends.

Some lousy Power Play performances from both teams.

Knew that was going to happen soon, by the Caps, after the pressure they were putting on.

Lars Eller starts off the scoring on a fine pass from Tom Wilson.

Crosby ties it up as it hits off his stick and then skate boot and ping pongs in.

OV just missed one of the closest one timers I've ever seen him wide open for.

What did you think of that Kempney penalty? I thought if you got the puck first then that's a clean play.

Another ping pong goal for a 2-1 Pens lead. I don't think it will hold. I don't think this Pens' team is very good.

I thought the same but I give up complaining about the Refs they really are worse this year vs last.

I know it is 2-1 Penguins but the Caps are outplaying them, if not for that bouncing puck at the end it would still be tied.

Totally agree. Top heavy and old, since being top heavy they have too much roster filler out there.

For the Caps it is scary to think Burakovsky is a health scratch.

They make bad calls. I was just asking for other perspective in case I was being biased. If you don't expect at least one bad call a night then you don't know hockey. It's only when its like 3-4 bad or obvious calls it gets frustrating. They've called a pretty good game tonight overall.

True tonight they been good in relative terms which helps makes this a fun game to watch.

Without a doubt. They blew their chance waiting to deal Sprong after everyone realizes he wasn’t good and the best they could do now is Petterson.
