Talked to our local fish house next to Pier45 today. The warehouse is still smoldering and expected to go on like that for another 2-3 weeks. Primarily it was crabpots lost and it looks like the 2020 crab season won't happen here - backlog for getting new pots will push into 2021 (they are all hand built and apparently each boat has their own specific design). Too bad, we love our Thanksgiving crab opening feast.... no word on the cause, but likely candidates are homeless or insurance (or my guess, a combo of both)
