After some weeks off, the IndyCar boys and girls visit the big race track in Long Pond, PA, better known as Pocono. Just a couple of races left to the season. We shall see who prevails.

The party here in Columbus will be ginormous if Graham can pull this championship off.

Charlie Kimball just had a big crash in qualifying. He's okay, but the catch fence took quite a beating. They are probably going to be down for a while to fix it.

Boy; its such a crap-shoot picking the podium in this series! - It's good for IndyCar, but bad for us! :D

We are still stuck at:

IndyAndy: 20 points
Retroram52: 16 points

Welcome to the frustration, Forty_Sixand2.

Hopefully, we'll have better luck next weekend at Sonoma. :)

I was going to pick RHR in the third spot and then at the last minute changed it. Damn it. You are right Indy. We haven't budged in what three races now and there are only two left or something.

Usually not a good sign when there's no information on a driver's health this long. For what I guess are legal reasons (and of course family), they never declare a driver dead at the race track even though I know of a couple that were. In both instances, there was media silence until several hours after arrival at the hospital. Right now its got that same feeling.

Pray for the best. That was a nasty shot. The nosecone shot up 50 feet in the air after Wilson hit it.

RHR is now suggesting they partially or completely close the cockpit. Rolex series R&D car, here we come.

Yikes. Rahal's championship hopes just took a potentially fatal hit. :gaah:

When you are back with the squirrels, you're gonna get your nuts cracked.

What was Vautier doing there? Hindsight being 20/20, it's a shame that Rahal managed to keep his car off Wilson's left rear. Had Wilson spun there, he wouldn't have been in position to hit debris from numb nuts later.

They're not showing a close-up of Wilson: That's never good. :(

For me it was the moment when the second truck pulled up alongside Karam's car, saw him moving and then booked it over to Wilson's. I just knew something was very, very wrong.

RHR is now suggesting they partially or completely close the cockpit. Rolex series R&D car, here we come.

I hope not, actually. The last thing these cars need is more aero slipperiness. And lexan would not have done anything against a 50lb nose cone at 200.

And to think, at one point I was looking forward to the post race and hearing how it was someone else's fault when Power spun on pit lane. He goofed it up though, he didn't block Dixon completely.

I loved that comment!

Agree with the 'no covering' stance. Leave then open cockpit: If we change the cars for every last freak/extremely slim probability incident that happens, soon we won't even recognized them.

I'm no physics guy, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around how that wing could weigh enough to knock someone out through their helmet. We deal with some of the same types of carbon fiber where I work (our goes in airplanes) & I've toured the Dallara factory in Indy, & that stuff is just insanely light-weight. I'd be surprised if the wing assembly weighs more than fifteen pounds.
