This week-end the Ferraris are on their home track at the famous Autodromo Enzo E Dino Ferrari Circuit for the Italian Grand Prix. Both Ferraris will be on their game in front of the home crowd with lots of red Ferrari flags. Red Bull is claiming they have fixed their powertrain problems but they have to prove it on the track. Should be a very competitive race in Italy.

This is a pretty dynamic duo and both are improving each race as the Mercs try to get back into the dominance they once enjoyed perennially. BTW, Hamilton needs a haircut badly. Cut that damn hair, you're starting to look like a little bitch!

LeClerc is already bringing the heat in FP-1. I like seeing the Haas teammates up there in 4th and 5th positions. It is only practice but that would be cool if they finished in the top 5 for this race.

Red flag waved more than any other flag in Quali. Including one for K-Mag who was able to get his car going again without help. Some question of whether he gets to keep his 4th place start because the rules state anyone who stops on track in quali can no longer take part in the qualifying session. His P4 lap came after he caused a red flag.

The Sprint Qualifying Races for this year have some changes for the Three Sprints F-1 is doing again. Last year, the Sprint Races were Silverstone, Monza, and Interlago. This year it will be Imola (this race), Red Bull Ring, and Interlagos. The name Sprint Qualifying has been changed to just Sprints.

The final finishing order of the Sprints determines the grid for the Sunday Grand Prix. So you'll need to wait until the Sprints on Saturday are completed before selecting the normal four finishers for the Sunday full-blown Grand Prix like we normally do. The starting order of the Sprints this year is determined by qualifying that takes place on Friday

Also new for this year: F-1 is now paying points in the Sprints from 1st all the way down to 8th. We will shall do the same and you can change your selections up to Saturday morning/afternoonish before the engines fire. We will entertain all 8 finishing spots in the Sprints with the following awarded points that are identical to what F-1 is awarding the drivers and cars:

1st-8 points, 2nd-7 points, 3rd-6 points, 4th-5 points, 5th-4 points, 6th-3 points, 7th-2 points, and 8th will be 1 point. You can potentially score 36 points if you run the table. If you run the table you'll receive a bonus of 15 points for a grand total 51. This point system is only for the Sprints. When we go back to the Grand Prix, our usual points will be awarded to the top four spots with all rules in effect that we started the season with.

So, those of you that wanted more points-paying opportunities, you got your wish for three races this year. Once again, those races will be Imola (this GP), Red Bull Ring, and Interlagos. I'll let everyone know that a given race has a Sprint included. Have some fun and you have until tomorrow morning/afternoonish before the engines fire to come up with all eight picks. If you only want to play just four picks you can. Or five picks, that too. Eight picks are available.

And now... ...If you run the table and get all 8 picks correct, I'll throw in a bonus of 15 points for this year ( I already mentioned this but just a reminder). Any questions, you know where to find me.

Shaqdaddy, are these selections for the Sprint or the Grand Prix? For the Sprint race which is the short version race on Saturday, you can select 1-8 spots. They are all points paying. Then tomorrow night, you get to pick the Grand prix four spots as normal. Your choice. Read my post above for further info.

No dude, you didn't eff-up. You can choose the top eight spots for the Sprint race that is tomorrow morning. That is what we are doing now. The final finishing order of that Sprint determines the starting order for the Sunday Grand Prix. So if you want extra points, you can choose those eight spots for tomorrow. Then you have to choose again the top four for the Grand Prix race that is Sunday. You choose those four tomorrow after the Sprint Race. There are two races tomorrow and Sunday. One is the Sprint (shorter version of the GP on Saturday) and the longer GP on Sunday. Capeesh?

I might have to check back in tomorrow after the Practice session. The qualifying was done on some wet areas.

Is there a worse elite-level driver at standing starts than Max? He’s great at giving up places on starts
