This week's race is the familiar British Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton's home race. Ferrari is predicted to do poorly because the Silverstone circuit has been repaved. Expect the Mercs to have a great week-end and Verstappen to be on a tear.

Also, After reading the awards rules for 2019 for a new potential member pachyderm, I discovered I have been making an error on the total points awarded if you correctly call the podium and fourth in a sweep scenario. It should be 2 points not 1.

Thus, Hank called a sweep in the Chinese and French GPs and Retroram also called a sweep of the podium and fourth with the Canadien and French GPs. Each will receive and update of 2 points on their season totals.

    Here are the updated totals:

    Here's How We Did: Updated

Should be interesting to see how Verstappen continues his assault on the Mercs this week.

The Mercs were purported to gave a dominant advantage at Silverstone over the Ferrari's but after P2, that dominance has not been evident. And Bottas has beat his teammate by 0.069 seconds for the P1 position followed by the Ferrari's of Leclerc and Vettel. But Grasly in the Red Bull laid down a lightning-fast last lap to get himself in 5th position. Qualifying should be the proof-in-the-pudding with all this trash-talking Euro-style going on.

I can't see Hamilton letting Bottas take his home race, Mercedes appear to easily have the upper hand again this weekend

Maybe Max can get past Leclerc, Vettel looks like a non-factor and Gasley is never one

    Hamilton
    Bottas
    Verstappen
    Leclerc

Hamilton has never finished lower than P2 in the Turbo hybrid era, and that was the year he got punted and went to the back. I think Ferrari will get ahead of the bulls on faster tires at the start and hold them there.

I used to run a game, on a now defunct F1 forum, I called it "Dark Horse".

The top 4 teams were excluded from the game.
You chose any 2 drivers(you can't pick the same driver as someone else) from the remaining teams and were awarded points based on who finished higher. Only the top 6 were given points.

I think that is how I did the points.. it's been a while...

    The points were as follows:
    10, 6 ,4 , 3, 2, 1...

As usual at his home track, Hamilton takes it to his teammate and the rest of the field by taking-off at the start and driving away. The final order is: Hamilton for the win, Bottas second, LeClerc third, Gasly for fourth, and Verstappen finishes fifth. Vettel finished a ghastly 16th after the early collision with Verstappen.

That was an outstanding race. I feel so bad for Bottas. After that first five lap battle, to see him lose a win because Gio doesn't know how to operate brakes just sucks.

And Leclerc V Werstappen is going to be a fun battle for a long time to come. I have to wonder if Leclerc's recent performance has pushed Vettel out of a job next year. I don't know how long they are going to tolerate Seb's mistakes and how long they want to hold Wehrlein back.

And Haas... lol. They just can't seem to get out of their own way. Next season of the F1 series on Netflix is gonna be all Steiner screaming obscenities.

One of the great moments of the weekend. Lewis takes Sir Frank for a lap. Well, it was supposed to be *a* lap. :)

I kind of thought Lewis would have gotten Bottas later. After all pit stops. He seemed quicker.

And then to get fastest lap on last lap on 30 lap old worn hard tires.....

He was really flying in the first 6 laps or so.

I felt like he was going to win regardless...

Is it because you don't understand how numbers work?
