No kidding, nothing worse than paying $10 for a Coors/Miller/Bud or whatever crap beer they have. Going into the premiums, I think it's closer to $13 a beer.
Even when I was single with no kids I would limit myself to 3 beers during the game for me, although I picked up the tab sometimes when with friends (Ox and I for example switch off buying beers every game we go together) but next thing you know at the end of the night you've spent between $60-100 on just BEER.
I won't buy too many cocktails because one of my biggest pet peeves is the jigger cup they force the bartenders to use. They want to make sure they keep every drop of profit a and I think for a facility and organization like LA that is wrong. If I know a bartender at one of the stands, which tends to happen by the end of the season from going to the games and continually going to that bartender, they should have the option of pour counts. Of course you don't want some belligerent A-hole too but restricting them like that is bad for business. I'm not paying $12 for a 7&7 that really is a 7&3.5.
Families can get expensive too, whenever we go with all the kids, beers, sodas, snacks, food, etc. all adds up. We probably drop $200 or more most times, and that's not even including the suite tickets we have to get ($300-400) and the gas to get there from 50 miles away in North OC. Going to a Kings game has gotten really expensive for us (6 people) where as when I just had one kid she and I attended 20-25 games a year so now we pick and choose games.
Jeez... I go out of town for a couple days and they lose 2 games after winning 8?
I did catch the second half of the game on Saturday in some dive bar that had Prime Ticket on with the sound down, so I didn't know why the Kopitar goal wasn't allowed until Sunday night.
My take is, yes the goal should have counted because of the push by the duck player, but if they wave it off, it has to be an interference penalty on either the Gaborik or the Duck player that pushed him. You can't have it both ways.
Hope for a win here. Don't see the Kings going up or down by the end of the season but a long losing streak could be bad form a morale point of view. As far as beers go Staples is stupid but Honda is worse. The price is a little less per glass but smaller glasses so it is more per ounce. They are hoping that having to make more trips will make you drink less.
