I have to say Corey Dickerson has been a good mid season pickup. Good, not great. "Professional Hitter" I think is what you call a guy like that. Also, I think Bruce is supposed to be back in a few days to at least do some pinch-hitting, so maybe he can deliver some late inning heroics.

Phillies are hitting .272/.350/.489 and averaging 6.2 runs per game since the club named Charlie Manuel as its hitting coach on Aug. 13. Not a bad 2 weeks, even with Hoskins' slump. If he's snapping out of it, more good news to come.

Grullon getting bench rot. Not one at bat since call up. Flex may have something against chubby guys. Knapp is not that good to warrant this nonsense. What gives?

These Pathetics have only managed to win six of their last 15 games. And they only scored more than 5 runs twice. I somehow expected better performances but I'm crazed. Not so easy to fix next year or probably any time in the near to distant future. The farm system is a sham. I wonder if it's even racist. We have a lot of nice white, good young guys with no raw explosiveness like we've seen from Acunia jr., and others around MLB, and a lot of good but used up white still talented pay check seekers who belong on any bench in any league. Holy shit!

Hoskins hurt us big time. We would have about 7 more wins if he hit around.265 or so. Just my opinion!

Hoskins should go out the same door as the one they should send out that idiot manager!

Hoskins has hit a dismal .204 the last 3 months. He never snapped out of it. Strike out rate 30%; even Bryce Ks at 31% but he has produced more runs.

You can dress-up a pig all you want, but the animal remains a pig that loves the mud. Out the door is the place for Hoskins. Trade his ass in the off-season for pitching help.

You may be right. He acts like he's afraid to swing the bat.
i feel like some in the media want to give him plaudits for his number of walks, but i have a hard time thinking it's because he has a good eye, as i had originally thought when he came up.

As pitchers got wise to his lack of aggressiveness, it became easier to K him. Should go to winter ball leagues to figure it all out.

Wait, are they allowed to have colored guys now? That changes everything! We need to get that guy that can turn off the gas light in the room and be in bed under the covers before it gets dark

Here's an interesting question? How many good starting pitchers have come through the Phillies "system" in the last 50 years? I'm skipping Nola because he was already a polished product in college who they fast tracked to the majors. So the only one I can think of is Cole Hamels. Schilling, Lee, Halladay, Carlton all came from other organizations. Brett Myers? Dick Ruthven? Larry Christenson? Pat Combs (lol) I can't even remember any good pitchers we traded away.
