But Kapler is still the manager.

Rumor Mill. Moniak for Bumgarner trade. Several teams want Madbum so the Phillies may be stepping up!
Hope we get it done. Would fill a void!
Slightly concerned, as he's been significantly better at home than on the road of late. He'd improve the back end of the rotation, but if we're giving up on Moniak, I'd like to get a non-rental.

Read about this in May and that Philly is one team on his no trade list. But that frequently means it’s for leverage rather than not wanting to play in that city.

Bum is 29, probably has started a decline, but still has some productive years remaining. Plus he’s from NC where he spends the off-season. Phils should go for it!

Probably will not happen. Top prospect for half season of future free agent makes little sense.

If Phils were 10 games over .500, I'd say do it. But with McCutchen out, which will likely will cost us over five games, pitching not where I hoped it would be, and with playoff chances are looking dismal, he probably would have little interest.

AS the trade deadline approaches, there are some pitchers available that could bolster our pitching weakness. The question remains is: Is this Phillies FO going to recognize the weakness in our pitching everyone else sees but them and do something to change the team's weakness into a strength in the second half of the season or are they going to remain blind as they are?

Yea, Northeast. Many media pundits have identified this idiot as the new jerk-off in the FO who is hindering what the Phillies could have on their roster especially with the issue of pitching.

We have the money. But it's like pulling teeth for Klentak to spend it.

Yea, Northeast. Many media pundits have identified this idiot as the new jerk-off in the FO who is hindering what the Phillies could have on their roster especially with the issue of pitching.

I think one solid addition to the Phils SP staff would work out well. Three of the Phils starters have each tossed 10 quality starts and the team is 29-25 in those games. Poor relief didn't help. Phils are 22-15 in Nola and Arietta's starts, and each could win 20 with improved relief and hitting (IF Jake's health). It appears Eflin, 3.78 ERA, has been undermined by relief to a greater extent. Phils have a shot at the post :flypig: if all three perform and obviously, again, with improved relief and hitting. No laughing allowed!

Nola___8-2, 3.74, 19 games. 10 QS, Phils 7-3, 46 ER, 2.4 runs/g; Phils 12-7
Arietta_8-7, 4.67. 18 games, 10 QS, Phils 6-4, 56 ER, 3 runs/g; Phils 10-8
Eflin___7-8, 3.78. 17 games, 10 QS, Phils 5-5, 42 ER, 2.5 runs/g; Phils 7-10
SP No. 4 (?)

Pivetta, current 4th SP, is questionable. Gave up 4 or more runs in 6/11 starts.
Pivetta, 4-3, 5.84, 11 games, 1 QS, 1-0, 40 ER, 4 runs/g; Phils are 6-5 in his starts.

Velasquez 2-5, 4.63, 11 games, 1 QS, 1-0, 24 ER,2.2 runs/g; Phils 5-6 in his starts. Probably belongs in the BP unless he's sent down.

Irvin, 2-1, 7.82. 6 games. ERA ballooned after 1 QS.

Eickhoff, 3-4, 5.71, 12 games, 3 QS, 3-0, gave up 4 or more runs in 7/12 starts. Injury plagued and who knows when.

I liked the signings of these experienced players but they’re all more subject to even small injuries like Bruce and more serious like McCutchen. Too bad there’re few or none on the farm to step up. Is Delmon available?

Phillies sign Lefty Drew Smyly. Dumpster dive to be number 5 starter. What a joke!

AS far as I am concerned, this FO has jerked-themselves-off into oblivion and when they pull this crap, it is proof they are literally spending their days playing vid games on their phones. Out of the pitchers they could have signed like Boyd and Ray which are decent pitchers, the FO chooses this dumpster fire Smyly. Hell, they should have signed Cole Hamels for what this guy is going to do.

Yeah, at 1-5, 8.42, this guy will fit right in. Still trying to recover from TJ. Out in ‘17 and ‘18. Won $4 mill in arbitration in 2016. Amazing how much these guys earn. How could he possibly help the Phils? Best dive since some of Rube’s.

So the ball is juiced this year, and we sign a guy that gave up 32 homeruns in 175 innings in Tampa, missed two seasons with an injury then came back and gave up 19 homers in 51 innings this year. Yes, bring that guy to Citizens Bank immediately! What could go wrong?

Another July dumpster dive. The lucky guy, Twins reliever Mike Minor, typically a 7.00 pitcher who blossomed to 3.18 this year. Only 11 Ks in 20 innings.
