Phillies sign Nate Spears.

Amaro finds another gem! Nate Spears is a life time minor leaguer. However he has been playing for the Indy Somerset Patriots lately. He is an infielder-outfielder with a lifetime batting average of .244. He is not a good fielder and has little power or speed. At 29 years old he fits the Amaro portrait of a low risk signing. Maybe he will be a minor league filler 6ype.

Spears never really got an opportunity with the Sox. I thought he could have made for a good bench player.
