Even though I’ve given up on the Phillies chances of overtaking Atlanta based on their run scoring problems, etc., I’m still checking in on the remaining games occasionally, for one, to see how Flex changes the lineups but also to see if any miracles develope, i.e., Braves go full retard, Phils figure out how to hit, etc. LOL. Or maybe it’s just watching 2019 tryouts or batting practice.

The scoring of runs tonight is due to poor pitching from the Marlins. 5 walks already. Until Flex places Hoskins
in the cleanup spot the Phillies will continue to struggle. Hoskins is a true power hitter stuck in a spot that requires him to get on base for someone else to drive in. His head is messed up batting 2nd.

Agreed. I hope he isn't permanently screwed up. Maybe Wathan should replace Flex.

Hope that the Phillies can rattle 22-year old Cy Alcantara. We don't handle unknown guys too well, but this pitcher walked five in his previous start. Nice to see Hoskins fourth but I still don't get the lineup. Why defer Quinn, fastest man in the world, to 9th, behind Pivetta. Assinine. Won't work, I believe. But, Go Phillies! Stop chewing gum, Flex!

I saw Hoskins take two fastballs down the middle of the plate. Then swing at a ground ball pitch and strike out. He could have drilled one out but he can not shake the mindset created while batting 2nd.

Similar things happened to.Cody and the Ruffer a few years ago. Then they lose confidence.
