I'm hip to his game.
i mean, we're all phillies fans, i get bitching at the team/players from time to time, it's what we do, but to only do that, the fuck are you even here for. also like you were actively rooting for ike while knowing you cost me 10s of 10s of dollars by not manning up and leaving work early.

Negadelphians can't let go.

Alternatively, you could have messaged me at 0700 while I was still on the right side of the Hudson to get your bet in.

Significant stat: Over the 13 last games, Phillies starters have a 2.42 ERA. The Phils are 9-4 over that span. Phillies starters may become the best in the league if Nola, Eickhoff, Eflin, and Arietta can stay on. It can happen. I predict it will happen. Watch the Phillies pull away from the pack.

This is the stage in the season that, if are the good team everyone envisions, we need to go one an extended winning streak with the exact prowess you are suggesting jvett. We need to have our bats consistently hitting, getting people on base as much as possible, not leaving them there (which is a Phillies historical propensity), and then have our pitching staff get badass hot with our infield defense becoming stifling in support. The we will see a badass championship team in the making.

So far, retro, it appears the Phils have addressed their hitting incompetence with the new additions to the team and the growth of players. While the team overall is hitting a good .249/.336 six weeks into the season, vs 2018's poor .234/.314, you have to like the .267/.352 mark produced by the lineup regulars from McCutchen to Franco. Hard to beat!

Perhaps a more telling baseball metric is LOB percentage. I wonder what the team LOB percentage was last year compared to this year. As a team, this year we are above 75% which I would wager is above last year's LOB%. Many of our top pitchers are above 75%.

7 LOB Friday night in KC with only 4 hits and 5 walks. with better OBPs this year, the LOB % is bound to be higher without timely hitting.

Last year after 37 games Phils were 22-15. This year we're 21-16. Money spent says we should be 27-10. Guess it doesn't work that way. Crazy baseball!

The Phillies still have not eveloped a killer instinct either. We were up on both the Bitches and the Muts by 4 games and could have kept the pressure on but nooooo.
