Peyton Manning was at a recent Bronco's OTA. He still maintains a residence in Colorado and refers to the Broncos as "we."

Anyway, this caused me to the think about Manning's career as a Bronco. Now a few years away from Manning's active playing - it is much more amazing than it seemed as it played out.

In the first couple of years Manning took over the team emotionally and psychologically - and his drive for perfect and precision spread throughout the team.

At the time - the neck injury was presented as a thing that would either cause him to retire, or he would overcome. The way it turned out, the neck was a ticking time bomb and everything was a race to succeed before his body gave out - for the Quarterbacking trade.

I'm beginning to respect and admire Manning's last two years the most. Instead of precision and quest for perfection - the Manning of the latter years was mind over body - brain over athleticism - and indominable will against the odds. He won Super Bowl 50 on determination and guile.

You know, kind of like John Elway's career.
