Band of Brothers
A Dreamer...trying to find my way home for dinner
Wow talk abut a ballgame ! Petit was masterful all night and dominated a darn good hitting Arizona club. It all came down to a 3-2 pitch in the 9th inning and after Chavez laid off a 2-2 terrific breaking ball. It was pure electricity in the yard tonight as Chavez hit a single just in front of a diving Pence in right field.
Petit pitched the best game of the year by far. The Lincecum no hitter took around 145 pitches and Petit did his in 95 pitches ,69 of which were strikes. The only difference was that Petit does not get the credit for a perfect game or the no - hitter.
The Giants played hard and it seemed like a playoff game. Petit now is in the mix for the rotation next year and the pitching staff gets stronger each day. This was the type of pitching performance that has to inspire the other pitchers on the staff to go out and finish the season strong.
It was Petit's night tonight and everyone seemed to have fun like last year. It might of been the best game of the year for the SF Giants. Bravo !
Go Giants !!
