"he is cleared for contact so he needs to be playing! I'm sorry, but this whole concussion with crysbaby is bologna! he is the worse captain to ever play the game, and if it had not been for key injuries and the rest of his team, he would not be a stanley cup champion! he is a good player, but man is he a baby! step it up! quit being a fu***** pu***! Maybe the C should go on Malkins jersey! they put all this media attention around a player who is out with a concussion. everyday it is something new, crysbaby is making progress, oh wait no there isn't enough contact! the symptoms are reoccurring...yad yad yad! who gives a crap, if you want contact, then come back and play the game! quit being a little b****! he plays in an easy conference anyway so he should have no problem!"

A comment on the NHL story about how the Pens schedule has restricted the contact Crosby's had in practice, therefore slowed his return. *sigh* The world needs to understand concussions, and apparently I need to start hitting heads so people can experience a concussion.

Is his contract up yet?

I talked to one of my big hockey fan friends (partian season ticket holder to the Coyotes actually, if you can believe that), and he told me that he met one of the Coyotes trainers and there is an inside rumor in the NHL that if he takes one hard hit the wrong way he could be paralyzed for life. Obviously that would be a horrendous horrendous thing, but the chance of it has to do with why they are being so cautious. I really hope for his, and the games sake, that this is not the case or the risk goes down over time.

That is the nature of contact hockey played at any kind of competitive level.

I doubt that this is more true for a guy who has a concussion. If he had some swelling of thalamus and/or hypothalamus, this could be the case. If he had those symptoms he would be hospitalized and hockey wouldn't even be on the radar.

NO clue where that rumor comes from, but it's completely ridiculous. He had back to back concussions, and honestly is fairly lucky that he didn't get second impact syndrome, however, a person coming back who is healthy is at no more risk for paralysis than anyone else that skates on the ice. Due to the severe nature of his concussion, I do see how people may think he's a ticking time bomb for future concussions, because that's the nature of the injury. Paralysis however involves spinal column compromise (aka broken neck/back vertebrae), and that isn't necessarily related to brain trauma. They're connected, but different. My biggest worry is another concussion, and post-concussion syndrome.

You seem to know more about the topic than I do, and I was just repeating heresay that likely got skewed from the game of telephone... but how do you know that there is no spinal damage? Could they be hiding this from the public?

people are just sick of hearing about him.. they didnt like hearing about him 24/7 when he was playing, and they really don't like hearing about him 23/7 when he's not even playing

there's too many other good players in the league, when crosby comes back, then talk about him, but this is just getting ridiculous.

leave him alone, let him heal.

When he succeeds in taking down the corporations, will he be able to barter for his $25 hair product?

Oh no, no, no.... his hand is covering part of the sign. It actually says "Seat the Rich." He's a host at a local restaurant out trying to stimulate the economy.

Which was closely related to the other campaign -- "Treat the rich". Where instead of dudes with all the money picking up the tab, poor people are encouraged to chip in from time to time.
