Pens and Devs GNT

Listening to Errey on NHL Live, so I decided to start this thread now.

Can't really speak much about the Devs, other than they are playing good right now, and they seem to (in recent history) have the Pens number...

This game should have playoff feel to it... I expect a high tempo low scoring game.

Neal really needs to find himself on the score sheet, even just an assist... but something. I would like to see more from the new clean-cut Jordan Staal... Kunitz was not on a line at practice (yesterday, today optional skate) but practiced with the PP. So, I expect him in the line-up either today or tomorrow...

Errey just said Johnson will get the start tonight.

3-2 Pens.

Trending down? The Pens are one/two (depending if Kunitz plays tonight) players from being at full health (yes, Sid is not coming back) we are actually playing better hockey now compared to the just before the deadline... we are playing better... not worse.

You think the Pens are worse now, then with all those AHLers on the team?

Hmm... I guess the over/under on how fast I fall asleep watching this game is about 20 minutes. That's actually less than the normal 30 for Devils games.

I don't expect many whistles, but not much in terms of scoring chances either... so it'll have some tempo, but boring... like the polka I guess.

Lemaire can take the fun out of any hockey game. He's told his team nobody leaves the defensive zone until they have control of the puck for a breakout or simply slap it out. I watched the last 10 minutes of the Stars vs Devils game. Dallas looked so frustrated I almost felt sorry for them. The key word of course is ALMOST.

I wish the Pens luck scoring tonight because there won't be many opportunities so they better take advantage of every chance they get.

If the Penguins can manage to squeeze only a point out of Jersey, I'll be glad to take it.

I don't share JA's optimism on this game at the Rock. Jersey is 10-0-1 in their last 11 home games. Pittsburgh going up against a style of play that lulls your offense to sleep is not the recipe this struggling squad has a taste for, right now. If there is a score of 3 or larger on the scoreboard, it won't belong to Pittsburgh.

The Pens need to play super disciplined on the blue-line, tonight... I'm looking at you Tanger... if they are to get the win.

Devils D have been playing great (especially Tallinder). Kovy has been on a different level lately, but our 2nd line has been pretty quiet. I see this being a 2-1 game, coin flip on the winner.

Going into this with the usual low expectations. I mean, our recent schedule has been very very tough...we can't discount getting to OT with the Leafs. They're playing very hot right now and with a lot on the line. And now we're playing the even more hot/desperate team.

Out of 13 games last month, the Devils scored atlest 3 in 6 of them (I dont know how many were EN). Now I dont know how many goals needed to be scored for a team/game to stop being "boring" but not every Devils game is a 2-1 snore fest. Hell I can tell you the one I went to (1-0 over the Rags) on the 18th was FAR from boring.
