CBS Sports' Dane Brugler notes that many scouts "are eager to see" how Memphis redshirt junior QB Paxton Lynch "performs at home against future high NFL draft picks like junior DT Robert Nkemdiche."

The 6-foot-6, 230-pound Lynch has been solid versus lesser opponents this season, but could have his hands full against Ole Miss this weekend. The big armed prospect has excelled in the passing game, completing 103 of 146 passes for 1535 yards, with 10 touchdowns and zero interceptions. Brugler adds that Lynch "is one of only two passers at the FBS level with 100 plus completions without an interception in 2015."

Nice find.

Still looks kind of raw, but he reminds me a little of Rodgers.

Might of been a bit too early to post this but it would be good if others on this board watched the Ole Miss game this weekend. If Lynch lights up the Ole Miss defense, he will have my backing.

6'6 230 with a rocket arm.

70% completions
10.5 YPA
10/0 TD/INT

Was not huge on seeing him do that jump backwards thing when throwing.

Smitty would love him on the jump shit though, wouldn't see as many open feet.

I like what I see so far. What about his middle name? Any 'Ms' there?

Kid has pretty good footwork but his delivery is a little too elongated and passes tend to hang/float. He needs to get more velocity on those simple #1, #2 and #3 routes. He's accurate though. the int. was a tipped pass, so he gets a bye for that one.

I like what I see so far but once again sitting 5 yards behind center makes it much easier for these college qb's.

384 yards, 7.2 YPA and 3/1 TD/Int ratio against a legit SEC defense? I'll take my chances.

I'm not buying the fact that we need a LT in the top 3. Lombardi is trash and once we remove his sorry ass, the line will bounce back. Stafford has proven to be dog shit under multiple coaching staffs.

I want to see a QB drafted in the first aboot as much this year as I did in 09.

Not one damn bit.

More about open feet than anything here. I'm pretty sure we'll know how you feel about any player mentioned. Unless you start beating some bushes suddenly.

Thndr, your boy did look damn good today.

I'll take him over Cook or Goff. He has a rocket arm but most importantly, seems to be accurate.

Comp % against Ole Miss (A legit SEC defense) was 73%

Throwing off the back foot is a bit concerning but it's better than sidearm.

Memphis junior QB Paxton Lynch "jumps off the screen with his size and arm to make all the necessary throws," writes CBS Sports' Dane Brugler.

"He operates well within Memphis' offense, which includes a lot of wide receiver screens and in-breaking routes. But he also was consistent down the field, showing velocity and pinpoint accuracy," Brugler wrote. "Most quarterbacks his size are awkward runners, but Lynch is athletic enough to climb and slide in the pocket and move his throwing platform with defenders in hot pursuit." The 6-foot-6, 230-pound Lynch threw for 384 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in a 37-24 upset win over Ole Miss. "Lynch isn't a flawless prospect; he needs to work on his footwork, touch and continue to add weight," Brugler wrote. "But with continued development, Lynch could be this year's version of Blake Bortles if he declares -- a passing prospect from a non-power-five conference who checks a lot of boxes for NFL evaluators in an average quarterback class."

I REALLY, REALLY, hope this is the case. If not -- it would suck having to rebuild the offensive line all over again, after spending two 1st rounders and two 3rd rounders on the OL.

I would take him if he was there in the second. IMO they need high impact front four player.

He will need a few years to be pro ready. Now would be the time to get someone to sit behind Stafford, but just not learn from him.

I could handle him as a Lion.

But I'll get all angry if he's a Top Ten first rounder for us.

Our O-line is fine. Other than Waddle getting rag-dolled here and there.
