I found an Q and A with Paul Allen from January where one question is brought up about him having any interest in buying the Mariners.

Q: What do you think about the Mariners ownership? I wonder how much longer Nintendo will have interest in owning a baseball team.
A: Two sports teams for me is really, I think, my maximum. No one’s ever approached me about the Mariners. Some of my friends are minority owners in the Mariners. They’ve had some tough times — with everything. I have to admit between the Seahawks games and the Blazer games and playoffs games, we’re talking about close to 100 games a year, so I don’t really follow other sports a lot.

It makes sense that Paul Allen wouldn't be interested in owning 3 teams. Has there ever been a majority owner in each of the big three (MLB, NFL and NBA) sports?

Not sure. I thought at on time you were not allow to own teams in two different leagues. I can't remember what league didn't allow it and I think it was in the 80's.

I like the comment; "They’ve had some tough times — with everything." It tells me that there isn't exactly agreement between all the owners towards the majority owner.

An owner that watches his product on the field.....how refreshing

Amen to that. Ours couldn't find Safeco field if their lives depended on it.

It just sucks that he wasn't involved during the last sale. The Mariners are ten times more of an attractive organization than the Blazers or Seahawks were. The infrastructure for the organization is there they just an ownership group that would spend money on the right things, not necessarily just payroll but on development, scouting. God knows they have a great PR department.
