Better approach is show up and when you get a chance tell the judge/attorneys that you're a huge Pats fan and may find it difficult to be impartial given that Hernandez was one of your favorite players. You'll be booted. You'll have wasted a half day but done it legally and won't get another summons for a long time.

In GA, skipping jury duty can result in criminal charges.

I was a full-time student last time I was called, and was excused for a year.
