Well there is a HUGE miscalculation by the Pat's. Could have EASILY traded him during the offseason for a very good draft compensation. And now they wont even get a comp pick for him.

I'm pretty sure he could limp out on the field and start for the Chiefs

TB or KC. TB would have to move around some money to do it. Brady is on the phone now

How healthy is Gilmore? That's the question. Sure a healthy Gilmore helps pretty much every team.

Now we'll see how greedy Gilmore really is. He'll get plenty of offers from multiple teams that are hurting at CB. Will he chase the money? Or go join TB and Gronk in TB for the chance at another ring?

The Bucs are quickly becoming an NBA-like team.

Patriots released CB Stephon Gilmore on Wednesday.

The move comes as a major surprise. 2021 was the final year Gilmore's five-year deal with the Patriots, and he spent the offseason attempting to renegotiate his deal. The cap strapped Patriots will save almost $6 million by releasing him instead. Gilmore injured his quad in Week 15 of the 2020 season and is still recovering from that injury. He was eligible to return from the PUP list after Week 6. Gilmore, 31, is certain to generate significant interest on the free agent market. It's obviously not lost on Gilmore that the defending Super Bowl champions have a glaring need at cornerback after suffering multiple injuries there, and just so happen to be quarterbacked by Tom Brady.

If he does not care about winning but wants money might I recommend the Lions? He could literally take naps on the field and the opposing team is still going to target the other corners because that side of the field will have more open recievers.

I don't understand why they didn't wait until he came back and then make a trade at the deadline. Could have got something out of his name recognition. Lots of teams in need.

I think he'll have a miraculous recovery. ;)

Very disappointed they couldn't work something out though

The Patriots release is not official until 4:00 pm and they can pull it back.

Second, BB will make a shitty deal rather than let him go to a potential rival in the AFCE or KC or DEN. My guess is that Harbaugh will call him and make an offer that BB will accept. My gut tells me that Nick Caserio has already had three conversations will Belichick and Brandin Cooks might be own his way back to Foxboro.

Third, don't be surprised if Belichick packages N'Keal Harry with Gilmore and gets himself a LT. Pats LT and LG were just put on the Covid list yesterday and Bill's bench sucks. He's not going endanger Mac Jones.

He may very well?

Will be interesting on what teams will take a shot site unseen?

Now that he's released is he no longer on the IR?

Could he go do a "try out" for a team tomorrow?

Start playing next week if he is healthy enough?
