Patriots Waive Gilbert Sign Matt Flynn

This was posted on the main board and it's turned into a shit storm. Everyone thinks the Patriots have thrown in the towel and Brady will be out four games. Ravens guys are sucking it up.

Former Green Bay backup was signed by the Patriots and 6th round pick Gilbert was released.

To me, this is nothing more than signing a quality back up to play if, and I again stress, if Brady or Garappolo get hurt. I don't think the Patriots are trying to plan that far ahead, Belichick also wants to be sure that no one in the AFC East (Jets) picks him up.

I think this is a good move. You need camp bodies. Most teams right now actually have 4 QB's heading into training camp so really adding a guy that is at best 3rd string on the Patriots makes sense. Throw in then it is security not only for injury but then let's just say Brady is suspended 4-games then you have a quality back up with starting experience. There really is no down side to this signing.

I have 2 daughters that look better than the chick above. You should have seen their mother. I lost her to cancer years ago but I'm still very protective about my daughters. I once fired an employee on his first day for ogling my oldest......

I'm sorry for your loss man. I lost my mother to cancer when I was a young child so I understand a little of what that kind of pain is. I also understand the whole daughter thing. I have a 4-month old daughter and first thing I said when the doctor announced we were having a girl is "Crap now I have to worry about every single boy/man that walks this earth." I've even convinced my wife that one of the first things we will sign our daughter up for is karate and also then have one of my best friends who is a MMA Champion come down and train her on a regular basis. My daughter should be able to kill any man that tries anything about 200 different ways by the time she graduates high school. At least that is my plan and hope. Then maybe I won't have to worry quite as much.

Well that is true. I haven't hardly slept for 4-months now. Heck it is why at 2 a.m. here I am awake deciding to get some work done (although not much actually getting done). I'm told it only gets harder from here on out though so got many more fun filled long nights ahead of me it looks like.

I think about all of things I've done in my life that I got so much pleasure and fun from......................think about it for a second. Have a waste basket close by.

Daughters...they are a problem. Heck grand daughters are also. As a dad I just hate any guy sniffing around. Never approve of 90% of them and approving of one meant my daughter would cross him off her list.
