Lol fixed - thanks. Not sure how I hit the poo up there.
God damnit. It's Swinney, not Sweeney. It's inexcusable to get that wrong at this point.
no problem. I was mainly joking with you. but welcome to the hoop
fine..you spell shitker right.
Because he is from there and played there. Also, Bama can offer him more money than Clemson ever could.
I dont believe you about the money. Also why would Dabo want to try to replace "the man" at Bama when he is "THE MAN" at Clemson?
Don't guess you ever heard of IPTAY
Here’s the rest of the article he was pretty spot on with the rest other than Snyder.
Forde: What were they thinking with these hires?
Because Alabama is the Mecca of college football. If you can win there, you can win anywhere. Just because you can win a game or two against Alabama isn't the same as winning SEC championships where you get a tough game almost every Saturday.
Saban is the highest paid Coach at 8.3 million.
Dabo is 7th with 6.5 million.
If Saban decided to leave Alabama for whatever reason, you can bet that Alabama could offer him more than 10 million. I doubt seriously that Clemson would be able to match that.
Bama also fired him. Clemson hired him away from a real estate job.
Plus by now he's been at Clemson longer than he was at Alabama and his have grown up only knowing Clemson.
The money aspect is funny considering you are talking about a coach who eschewed a personal pay raise a few years back in order to give his assistant coaches pay raises.
But it's not just the money. It's the prestige of the program. Clemson's football history cannot touch Alabama's football history.
Saban offered Dabo a job once before.
Saban would endorse Dabo if he decided to step down. He had much respect for him.
Yes, Alabama has more prestige than Clemson. But what about Dabo's personality says he's seeking prestige?
Saban offered Dabo a job.....where's Dabo at now? When Saban went to Alabama Dabo was the WR coach/Recruiting Coordinator. The same position would have paid far more at Alabama and offered a lot more security than being a position coach for Tommy Bowden, and certainly a lot more prestige. At that point (after the 07 season) he had been at Clemson the same amount of time he had been at Alabama (as both a GA and coach) so why didn't he move? All the reasons you've listed as to why he's going to Bama when Saban retires existed then with far less reason for him to stay in Clemson.
I never said he was going to Alabama. I said I hope they don't lure him there.
If Saban said next year was his last year, who would you want Alabama to go after that they have a realistic shot at?
Especially when he's built his current program at Clemson, where at Bama he'd be taking over an already built machine he wouldn't get credit for.
He's a coach and a hero at Clemson. At Bama he's just a coach.
You should see how often Mark Dantonio gets his name screwed up, even in Michigan.
The bottom line is that Saban is still at Alabama and Dabo is still at Clemson. Until Saban leaves Alabama on his on will this will not change. When Saban does leave on his own will, I do not think Alabama prestige, or money, or ESPN will get Dabo to leave the program that he built at Clemson.
Separate names with a comma.
