We should really start pushing forward if we want this to happen... @TKOSpikes , @Yellow Fuzzies , @Chef99

there is a lot to do

We need to agree on a Commish

We need to find 12+ owners- we don't have that yet

We need to decide whether it is H2H categories, H2H points, or rotisserie

We need to discuss a fair scoring system for whatever type of league

we need to discuss roster size and starting positions and how many minor league spots

We need to have a SLOW draft... I think we should aim for a mid February Draft start date...

As far as Commish goes, I'll vote for any of you guys. I originally wanted to take over Paul's, but the realist in me knows I won't have the time to do justice to the job.
Owners? Yeah...I think we might have more interest when Football is done.
I'll vote for either H2H categories.
Agreed on a mid February Draft.

so... at this point...

the IN

@Yellow Fuzzies , @Chef99 , @TKOSpikes , @broncosmitty , @jwolt92 , @MilkSpiller22, @bksballer89 , @molsaniceman =8

The usual suspects to get the first opportunity: but not yet confirmed anything

, @tlance , @obxyankeefan =2

The outsiders who have been in leagues before

@Driaz , @redseat , @DHoey , @Beengay fudgepackers , @TJL

does anyone have any other potential candidates??

I think we NEED at least 12 if we are going to start a Dynasty...

add @obxyankeefan to the list, that makes 9.

bump for @tlance

I am in for all this from Chef. I can't commish but will support whoever takes it on.

Just to start the juices flowing: I have a keeper league. We keep 7. Because of a one year Covid contract extension all of my player choices have 3-5 year contracts remaining. Pretty standard 10 category Rotisserie. Who would you keep?
K Marte
D Swanson
L Gurriel
S Marte
J Soto
G Stanton
D Carlson
F Flaherty
J Hader
F Valdez
J DeGrom

I would definitely keep

hader
deGrom,
Soto,
Stanton,
k Marte

the next 2 is tough between

S marte
Gurriel
Flaherty

I would probably leave off flaherty as he is easiest to replace. But I would definitely draft a starting pitcher early in the draft.

Thanks guys. Both of you have Stanton in. I have him out. He is DH only and has been injured. All the rest I agree with. Why Stanton over Flaherty/Hader?

stanton is entirely because if he stays healthy he is one of those players that can win you a league... of course it sucks that he doesn't stay healthy.. But you account for it... worst case he gets hurt and you have to replace him... \\

flaherty IMO is a nice player, but he is pretty easy to replace, and get similar numbers...

Hader i have as a clear keep... so i won't argue against him...

like milk said.... if Stanton plays, he is a difference maker. Flaherty is a top end arm for sure, but I do not believe his upside compares.

though the DH only thing might be a hinder, idk, I don't really let that influence me... if I have too many hitters for lesser spots, I trade.

if Stanton clicks, it's MVP... if Flaherty clicks, it's pretty-to-very good, majority of the time.

Flaherty's second half in 2019 nearly won him the CY Young award. If you look at his 2020 stats, his BABIP was nearly 40 points higher than the previous year, so if it regresses even 20 points, that's a huge jump. His GB% was higher than normal last year and so was his HR/FB. I'd expect him to return to his true ace expectations this season. But I'm biased.

This is a forthcoming new dynasty league.
Dynasty leagues is like a keeper league, but you keep all or most of your team.
Rosters will likely include minor league players. The size of the league will likely determine how many.

Everything is new, so you haven't missed anything.

you really are funny... you have no memory of leagues you do in the past.... sure our last attempt failed... but you were still part of that league, and it did last 2+ seasons... i think...
