was watching pregame show milburry said no chance hes with the devils keith gave 50/50 leaning towards not being back.

jan 1st coming awfully fast....every day that passes the devils lose more and more leverage in any possible trades....think we can all agree that if he isnt staying to ship him for whatever we can get? or you keep him and hope for some magic come april?

I wouldnt listen to what the worst GM in hockey history has to say...but to answer your question I think a lot of it depends on where we are come the trading deadline. Chances are if the Devs are is position for a decent playoff spot and the lines are clicking they keep Zach around and hope he resigns. If were out of it I can see Lou shipping him off. And it should bring us back a boatload cause not only is Zach a great player he's also probably the most marketable US star right now. Just too bad that our marketing for this team is garbage.

i know im not putting a lot of what milburry has to say just found it interesting he came right out and said NO he isnt going to resign.

if parise and kovalchuk could just fire as the 1-2 punch we all hoped this team would really take off

I have a feeling that Lou would essentially dump any amount of salary any way possible if we needed to find room in our internal cap space for him. If he doesn't stay, it's because ownership can't afford to pay him, which will be a sad, sad day indeed.

I would only trade him is there was a ZERO % chance that he signs, otherwise I would keep him until the bitter end.

When was the last time a team got back a player even remotely close to the one they lost by dumping him at the deadline?

Certainly not Atlanta with Kovy, or Hossa>

I look at this list and can't find a single player I would take over the CHANCE to sign Parise.

Would anyone here trade Parise to LA for Bernier , Justin Williams and a high pick?

I always think of big market when I think of potential Parise trades but wonder if that would even be enough for him. Id really want J Johnson or Doughty but they just recently signed extensions. Parise makes them the instant favorite in the West to me.

I wouldn't want to trade Zach at all as mentioned by others above. Be a short captaincy reign also :/ It's just a crappy situation because like MC said unless there is 0% chance we sign him i wouldn't want to lose him.

But that's what could be nasty is that we obviously can't know for sure, I'm not sure if I'd be comfortable though at the same time just waiting and hoping he resigns.

For all we know Zach could be certain he's staying if the Devils can keep him but i don't know ever since the talk about this began I've never really been sure that he will stay if it comes to that, in fact I've leaned towards him not resigning but i dunno why.

Unless Parise comes tothem and says "listen, I am not signing here, no way, no how" I would not trade him. I think he ends up staying a Devil for a long time.

I doubt the devils trade him we will never know what is said behind closed doors then July 1st comes and pairse goes to the biggest payday and Lou saves face by saying we tried everything. Somehing he can't say if he trades parise and he goes on to win a cup and the devils return are all busts

If Jan 1st comes and no new deal I don't think he stays. The new contract doesn't kick in til next year and there will be a massive revolt in the summer. Can kiss those 1800 sth bye bye

I hope he remains in Jersey but he shouldn't be moved unless he gave a solid clarity that he won't resign with us.

Come on Parise!!! be a Devil for life!

I wouldn't trade Parise for a goalie prospect under any circumstances. There's just too much risk with goalies that have played little. Look at Steve Mason in Columbus.

I'd hope that they could get the deal done then, BUT Lou doesn't deal with players mid season except marty, we'll see what happens.
