Took me a second to see it but yes that does look like a double touch. Which pissed of former candidate for the Panthers was working in the war room tonight?

to me it looked like the stick always remained in contact with the puck, a good goal.

Looked good to me. His stick never left the puck. I can see how it could be a no goal tho, but I didnt see it as a double touch.

I don't know the technicalities of the rule, but I think in the spirit of the rule, it should count. It was one motion, it's not like he took a second swing at a rebound.

For a split second you can see the puck stop and another push. Even if the stick didnt leave the puck I thought once the momentum stopped it was dead? There was definitely a loss of momentum there so I cant be sure, I need to know the exact rule.

I dont believe it is a loss of momentum, but a stop altogether. As long as you keep forward motion the SO attempt is live... I'm almost positive that's how it works

I see the puck leaving Moore's stick and hitting Vokoun's pad which begins to direct the puck away from the goal until Moore gives it a nudge back towards the net. The following is taken directly for the NHL rule book regarding shootouts:

No goal can be scored on a rebound of any kind (an exception being the puck off the goal post or crossbar, then the goalkeeper and then directly into the goal)

I believe that the war room ruled in this case that there was no rebound and that Moore retained possession of the puck with a singular motion. Obviously, I disagree with that finding.

Terrible call.

Panthers got boned.

The War Room is starting to screw obvious shit up again. Didn't Bettman say something about Lombardi having no base for questioning the integrity of the league a few days ago? God I wish I could punch that guy in the face.

Yeah looks like they screwed up. Fortunatley we know this never happens and we can count on this being a one time thing.

i hate the war room but that was a damn tough call to make. cant blame the ref because it was so fast but i think if they would have called it no goal the war room would have agreed.

very tough call. imo

Yeah...that's a no-goal IMO. The puck hit the goalie, and even though his stick never left the puck, after a puck hits the goalie and comes off in any direction it's a rebound.

That's the same thing I said when they allowed it.

Your D-man clearly knocked it into the net. OV set it down at his feet. How did the puck magically get momentum to move 3 feet towards the net?
