but sigh, probably Palmer was better dang it

Does it matter?
Palmer didn't want to be here. So, even if we would have loved to have kept Palmer, it wouldn't have mattered. He was gone.
Dandy will be here a long time. He wants to be here, and he's cheap.
Palmer had more talent in him, and talent around him, but he lacked a true team, and was never a "leader".
Dalton has less talent in general, I think, but has a better "team", which elevates their play.
Palmer and that offense carried the defense many times.
Dalton is carried by the defense many times.
It also depends on what Palmer you are getting. Are you gett the 2005, pre knee and elbow problems palmer, or the jittery, shaken after knee, and wobbly ball after the elbow issues Palmer.
Dalton isn't a leader either.
That's the fundamental problem with this team, they've gotten no leadership from the quarterback position for 10 years. No offense to Whit, we all love him, but if your offensive leader is a tackle/guard, its not a good sign
That is true. Dalton isn't a leader, either.
However, I think that in 2005-2010 the team NEEDED Palmer to lead, because Ocho, TO, TJ, and the like were inmates running the assylum.
Not so much the case here, but you are correct. Dalton has to step up and start holding other players accountable on offense. The problem with that is, no one is holding Dalton accountable for his issues, so he has no room to bark at another player when he, himself, can't follow through.
*edit, this isn't to say that this team didnt' need a leader, was just pointing out that the dysfunction of Palmers' team poits to a dire need. This team needs a leader, but for different reasons.
I agree, Carson let those two walk all over him and didn't do anything about it, and neither did Marvin
