I hope there is a way out of that contract. Baker and Jean-Francois have out played him.

Colossal bust this year. I think he was the biggest FA money wise that we brought in this year. You have to ask yourself if we didn't sign Paea would we have drafted Williams? hmmmmm...

Not sure why it matters. Leonard Williams has done nothing this season. I am glad we have Scherff over him. Williams is a far cry from JJ Watt.

Dude... let it go. We passed on him. We had every opportunity to draft him and we didnt.

I doubt it. And truth be told, I'm kinda glad we didn't draft LW and didn't I understand all the hype about his pass rushing abilities. He wasn't a great pass rusher at SC.

And G's right. He hasn't done a whole lot this year. 46 total tackles, 1.5 sacks and started 10 of 11 games.

Really surprised at his lack of impact. Of course Baker's play limited his snaps but Paea did nothing to warrant more playing time.

The Jets lead the league in sacks. You guys are trying to tell me that he has nothing to do with that? Just his presence makes their defensive line better.

The Redskins needed help along both lines before the start of this year, and Sherff has been a very welcome addition. He has helped solidify the right side of the oline, and is already an above average pass blocker.

From what I hear he is just an average player. Moses and Williams are playing at a pro bowl level.

Paea Will start next year b/c of Hatchers release. He has to step it up for us. I see us addressing the De spot in the 1st or 2nd round of the draft. To do it in FA will be too expansive.

  • I don't know where you're getting those sack stats from, but stop using that site cuz it bullshit. 14 teams have more sacks than the Jets 28. 9 of which belong to Muhammed Wilkerson. Now teams maybe game-planning for him. As well as Shelton Richardson, but I'm gonna say its doubtful Williams has kept any DCs up late at night figuring out ways to stop or slow him down. I don't know why he got the rep for being a great pass rusher in college. He wasn't. He was OK, but he wasn't some QB terrorist or anything like that..

I think Dean has been spending too much time in Colorado.

Dean, every year you fall in love with one guy in the draft and then harp all year about how stupid the skins were to pass on him. The fact is that Williams was passed up by quite a few teams that could have used at stud DT. And it turns out we see why. He wasn't as good as many of the draft sites seemed to believe. He has had an ok year, but for a top draft pick, he has not lived up to his billing. The reality is that Scherff has make more of an impact with us that williams has with the Jets. Scot M. Was right to pass on him.

Whatever happened to waiting 3 years to evaluate a draft? We are now determining in week 14 of his rookie season that Williams was a miss?

didn't mean to imply that he is a bust completely, only that he has not had the impact to date you would expect from someone that was so highly touted and his draft position. While I was not in favor, at the time, of the Scherff pick, he has had more of a positive impact for us that williams has had for the Jets.

i got that stat from rotoworld.com. My bad it was since week 9.

Jets lead the league with 17 sacks since Week 9.

Without a true edge rusher, the Jets struggled to find the quarterback early in the season despite sending pressure as much as any team in the league. Improved play from Muhammad Wilkerson, who has four sacks in as many games, and the development of rookie Lorenzo Mauldin has allowed New York to get more pressure over the last month despite blitzing at a much lower rate. With the secondary struggling, getting pressure without extra rushers would go a long way to solidify the defense.
