Also unless he suddenly retires he's not done in GB yet IMO. His cap hit is still significant the next 2 years.

Agreed. They had to sign him at the time because of his pass rushing potential but he's an injury waiting to happen and has been for most of his career.

He’s has been really good before. Have to hope for the best because we aren’t flushing 11 mill down the drain to free up a roster spot and save 3 mill off our cap

Makes sense. He was ok when he was on the field but he isn’t a playmaker which is what GB needs. Everybody doesn’t have to be a playmaker but you need at least one at each position. Right now , GB has none at the LB position. CMIII used to be that guy......not no more. I’ve read several articles saying GB doesn’t have the talent like other playoff teams. I believe that 100%. Who do we blame for that? Well, you have to start at the root of the problem. Starts with the scouting department. Whoever is evaluating talent isn’t doing a very good job and obviously needs to find a different one. Coaching. There are coaches who can get more out of their players than anyone else. This coaching staff fails at that. Ultimately its a cumulation of several factors as to why this team is failing and I hope they figure out what needs to change.

Actually, according to Over The Cap website, The Packers can free up $3.6 million in cap space next year, and significantly more the following years, by cutting him. So, it really makes sense that he is done in GB.

It makes sense to cut him after next year not this year. The dead cap hit would be cheaper after the 2019 season. Plus we save 6.9 million. We will have a big transition year so we might need him for a body.

I'm surprised Nick hasn't signed anywhere yet. Maybe his career is done?
