He was on the losing end so who cares if he wasn't blown out?

Lost one AFC title game. He was on the winning end of the conference title game a lot more than Rodgers. That's the point. Rodgers is more in the Brees category than the Peyton and Brady category.

Can't put up 0 points in the first half on the road in the playoffs then blame the defense when you lose the game.
What if the team you are playing is really good at preventing you from scoring? This loss is not on Rodgers.

I thought Rodgers had one bad throw, that first pick (the second was garbage time, who cares). Other than that he was pretty darn good and kept everyone from changing the channel. It was the Niners OL's flat out domination of the Packers front seven is what cost them the game. They looked like an Arena-grade defense out there.

Then you werent good enough as a QB/offense to beat the opponent.

This loss is on the whole team, Rodgers included.

Well sure, as I said in another thread it's a team game. Which is why all the bitching about Rodgers 'losing' the game or 'winning only 1 Super Bowl' is asinine.

The game was essentially over at that point. Anyone's gonna let up with a lead that big.
And that is a huge problem. When you have a team down you turn it on and hammer them. I'm concerned about that pass rush in the 2nd half. It was pathetic and reminded me of two years ago.

No it's not. When you have a 27-point lead, you're OK focusing on running the clock out over scoring.

If it's 14 points, yeah. Keep the gas on.

And it's not like the Packers mounted a giant comeback. They scored 20 points the whole game, and the closest they ever came was being down 14 points late in the 4th.

Um, he checked in again in the 3rd though.
Seemed like the 49ers let up on them; at least I hope that's what happened because that 2nd half pass rush was pathetic. They never got near Rodgers once. I'm hoping that they simply didn't wear down because if that's the case, they are dead in the Super Bowl against Mahomes.
Remember Bill Walsh's belief that the key to winning in the NFL is a big pass rush in the 4th quarter.

I have zero problem with what the Niners did on offense in the 2nd half but Its a huge problem any time a team gets on top of another team and doesn't step on their throat. Its football 101. You never want to lose momentum. I hope that's what happened to the defense but that pass rush should have been teeing off but I'm worried that they wore down. Should that happen in the Super Bowl, they are dead.

That's sort of the opposite of what he did.
Yeah, I see that point but it seems like the Niners made the mistake of letting up. At least I hope that's what happened. I hope that non existent pass rush is not the defense we'll see in The Bowl.

Almost all of the time, that's true. But the Packers were never anywhere near close to winning that game. It doesn't apply to this one. The game was over by the start of the 4th quarter.

I wasn't so much worried about losing that game, I was worried about how pathetic the pass rush had become. I can see taking the air out of the ball on offense to kill some clock but I can think of no reason why you would let up on the pass rush yunless they wore out. I'm really concerned about that because if that happens against Mahomes in The Bowl, they are dead.
