Well, my Trojans made it fun to watch, but they just aren't there yet.
I used to think life would be better with both USC and UCLA sucking at hoops... but Pac play isn't the same without at least one of you two being a pain in our ass. I'd prefer USC over UCLA to get back to their old ways... ASAP. Those games were fun.
Aside from zona is there a legit tourney team in this league?
Sure as hell ain't Stanford. God they suck.
I never know what to think about USC. Seems like the only time they did well is when Floyd was being a piece of shit. I want them to do well to help the conference (if nothing else), but I don't know what it'll take. I'm not sure that Enfield was the right choice. I think they could have done way better. It's a good time to try and leapfrog UCLA, since the Bruins are looking more and more like they are headed the wrong direction. Unless Enfield (or whomever) is a great coach and can develop lesser talent, USC is going to need a big name that can immediately generate interest from both fans and recruits. I just think they have so far to go unless they can get a big name and turn things around quickly.
Holy Crap!! USC won a game yesterday!!
I'm wasn't/not 100% sold on Enfield yet, but it was an exciting hire at the time, and his recruiting has actually been pretty good, they had a Top 15 class last year and are bringing in two more Top 100 guys next year. The first two years of rebuild are generally not going to go that well, but next year his clock starts ticking, they need to get up to .500 in conference play, which I definitely think is obtainable.
I agree. Fun and exciting hire and if he can bring the kind of basketball they played at FGCU, even better. But now that he pulled in that class and has 2 more top 100 guys coming in next year, they're going to have to start winning more games beginning next season.
I'd like to see them improve enough to possibly get an NIT invitation next season and then make the NCAA tourney the following year.
I'd be thrilled if that scenario played out, lol. I would say it's not out of the question they can be a NCAA contender next year, but that's probably a bit too much optimism, but if they grow up............
Thank ASU for the bubble burst.UCLA losing to ASU means their only way of getting in now =
1) Upsetting Arizona
2) Losing AZ game then winning out & getting to P12 Championship.
They can only afford 1 more loss the rest of the season to have a chance.
Whoop de' dooh'Jason "The Jet" Terry got his jersey retired tonight. Cats win by 30 over USC.
