I like Oregon for the first 2 then it gets interesting with Baylor/Duke but I think Oregon can win those as well to get to 8. Texas A&M or Oklahoma likely for that and im not sure because I havent really seen either play.

wichita fans are not intimidated whatsoever according to what I've read. I don't know if vandy has enough fans to express an opinion.

Damn..... I'm happy we got some respect getting a 8 seed but Providence is a really tough draw. But I'm excited either way! FIGHT ON!!!!! (First time in since 2011)

Really happy that USC got in and am a little surprised we got an 8 seed. Had us figured at around 10. Figures to be s short stay though. Assuming we get past Providence, it gets us a game with North Carolina.

Carolina can let teams run with them. Throw some nasty dunks down and I'll be happy.

I think the 8 seeds split, CAL, AZ, UO, & Utah win in round 2 and Oregon St gets upset.

I can see Arizona getting the the elite 8 pretty easily.

I don't think they have the monsters that some other halves of brackets do, but they have a lot of games against solid competition. I don't think that means it will be easy getting to the EE, but I hope you're right!

I'd rather have a 12 or 13 than an 8. Get hot at the right time and you can make a little run in the tourney. But if SC gets through Providence I think it will take more than playing hot to get through UNC.

Yeah, the 8/9 is always an interesting place because it enables a first game against an even opponent, but sacrifices the very next game to play a 1 seed. I agree, being 8/9 is such a hill to climb to get out of the first weekend. Sometimes those 1 seeds are already looking at the 2nd weekend though. It's often a trap game for the 1 seed, and with only 48 hours to prepare, it's not an auto W.

It can be a trap but historically I show:
Second Round: The #1 seed is 65-16 (80.2%) against #8 seeds & 63-7 (90%) against #9 seeds.

Compared to
First Round: #5 seeds are 97-47 (67.4%) against the #12 seed.
Second Round: #4 seeds have a 24-12 record (66.7%) versus #12 seeds.

That #5 seed looks like it has the "best" odds of making the sweet 16.
