Ozuna coming off a career year.
.312/.376/.548/.924, 145 OPS+, 142 wRC+, 37 HR, 124 RBI
Just turned 27, two more years of team control left. Top 2 or 3 defensive left fielder in the game last year. Fowler/Pham/Ozuna outfield is pretty damn good.
I don't see why...he will move to corner OF and bat near Ozuna in the lineup...combine that with his NTC and I can't see that happening.Heard they may to try to move Fowler
Yeah I heard that too. 4 years/$66 million left on his deal. They do that and they'll have Ozuna/Pham/Piscotty.Heard they may to try to move Fowler
Hard to speculate who got traded. Weaver and Piscotty?
Good consolation prize indeed.
Well, thats interesting. Highest risk/high reward for the Marlins. Just a cannon arm and not much else at this point but the type of guy you'd expect to move to a rebuilding team.Sandy Alcantara heading to the Marlins.
Apparently Alcantara was going to be part of the Stanton deal. But they are saying the Marlins got more for Ozuna than they did Stanton/Gordon combined. Said to be multiple pitchers and a position player.Well, thats interesting. Highest risk/high reward for the Marlins. Marlins were never going to get much for Stanton because he could always turn it down. Or at least thats the assumption.Apparently Alcantara was going to be part of the Stanton deal. In other news, Piscotty looks to be on the move to Oakland.
Apparently Piscotty wants to go back to Oakland, where he's from, after his mom was diagnosed with ALS this year. That sucks.Marlins were never going to get much for Stanton because he could always turn it down. Or at least thats the assumption.
Piscotty makes sense to move now. He has value but also a project defensively and offensively. I'd like to see the Cardinals keep him but thats usually not how this kind of thing works. I'm sure most Cardinals fans would only want to give up Grichuk and pocket fuzz but I think the Cards have to improve and deal with their logjams.
Bob Nightengale says the Marlins are not interested in trading Yelich. Really that makes sense. Under contract for not too much for the next 4 years (and a 5th year option). Can keep him for the next 2 years at just under $17 million total, and then when the back end of his contract comes up he could still be a very valuable asset.
If he performs over the next two years, he'll still have 3 years of team control left (2/$26.5 million with a $15 million team option for the 3rd year) and have a longer track record. Could be a very valuable piece then.
Yeah, its been a rumored move for awhile now. Id imagine its actually really difficult to trade someone who needs to go somewhereApparently Piscotty wants to go back to Oakland, where he's from, after his mom was diagnosed with ALS this year. That sucks.
