I have given up on the OWH a long time ago but after yesterday I am not even close to coming back. Dirk was told to apologize and wrote an apology column in yesterday's paper. Like I said before, the only time I pick up the paper is when someone tells me about an article. I was told about that and read it. What a crock of shit it is for the university to call the OWH and for the OWH to bow down and actually force Dirk to do that. The little respect I had for the OWH is completely gone and I also think it is complete crap for the University to not have any balls and apparently can't handle even remote criticism. I don't hate the witers I just hate the company they work for. What a joke they are!!!!

I was listening to USC the other day. Shatel was on and I don't usually listen to close to Shatel, but he said something the other day that caught my attention. He said that someone made a negative comment about his speech impediment. I know the context of the conversation was how Bo mishandles the media. Was he referring to Bo? If it was Bo that would be unfortunate. If it was Bo, he really needs to grow up.

nothing sad about it at times the media over steps and Dirk did no favors with Bo last year when he didn't even give Bo time to tell Fischer's family about his injury. I don't care what some of you think but the media sticks it nose in places it doesn't belong and I'm talking about all media.

A starting LB getting injured is a huge story in Nebraska. If the coach won't talk then the news people need to get the story out to the people that want to know which is the fans. Maybe if the fans weren't so over the top for any "inside info" they can possibly spread the media wouldn't feel the need to get the news out there so fast. The blame is spread out more than just the media.

as fans and media we all need to understand we don't need to know jackshit about the inner workings and day to day operations of the Nebraska football team. Pelini should of never had to deal with the issues he dealt with last year with a players family that was casued by yes the media and we all do know that it was Dirk. Pelini number one responsibility to take care of his players and famlies not to give the OWH and LJS staff all the little details for a story and the media should respect that and wait untill Pelini releases injuries before making it into news.

unfortunately it takes an insider leak to get stories like that. i would guess someone lost their job over the fischer situation last year (if it was known who provided the information). everyone at the athletic department is given very specific rules for what they can say to the media (in short, NOTHING). while i think Dirk is a scumbag, i can't really blame him for reporting something like that. part of journalism is getting the "inside scoop" before anyone else. however, journalism is NOT talking out your ass trying to tell someone how to do their job, and then getting butthurt when they call you out on it.

Again, do you know for sure it was Dirk? Or are you just wrongly jaded against him and will throw any blame on him?

There was a leak last year but that coach is no longer here so his "friends" are no longer at practice.

Although I completely agree that we don't need to know shit but we all know that for every one of me, you, and JJM there are 20 losers on those other shitty boards that want to know every little thing. That is why articles are written that some of us don't care about. Not every article is going to be for everyone. It is impossible to please everyone. The media members get countless emails and other feedback comments. They try to write articles off the pulse of those comments. We may not like them but there are people out there that do and live for them.
