Yes, I am VERY jealous. My kids were first chair in orchestra.

We have known him since he was born.

He was a baseball prodigy for our area. He had to play with older kids because of his skill sets. He could hit it a ton and throw it hard, far, and accurate.

His high school grades were excellent, 3.9. He attended the same high school as our two sons. Went to a Power 5 University on a baseball scholarship.

At this time, he has no idea where he is going because of the Covid19, but he has more money at 21 than I did.

Congrats to him.

I know other ELITE athletes as they have Olympic Gold Medals, Silver Medals, World Cup medals(relatives that play pro overseas) and now I know what it takes to be an elite pro athlete in a major sport in America. I was a good athlete, but not on their levels.

Talked with his Mom, he is being paid $400 a week and will move to Florida to establish residency to lower his tax burden for his signing bonus.

Not sure if his residency will kick in before he has to pay taxes, though.

his Major League team told him to keep training as he is, no update on his minor league team status, as in, where he is going.

LOL...local kid here took a million out of high school as a catcher. People were actually upset that he'd forgo schooling for the money. Most of us told them, he can always go back to school.

Big fish in a little local pond but a big kid and very respectful. He's washed out as a catcher and is trying to hang on as a corner OF'er but his hitting has disappeared.

Go on, take the money and run...
