In all honesty I haven't paid much attention to the WS but today while at the Dr's office they had ESPN2 on the TV in the waiting room and on two shows they were talking about the surprising number of people that were leaving the stadium with the Cards down by two run's in the SEVENTH inning.

To me that seems insane! I can't imagine leaving early during a deciding game with the score that close in any sport.

Have you ever left a game early and then regretted it because your fav team came back to win? Have you ever changed the channel or turned off the game early and regretted it?

To me if I'm paying good money I'm staying unless the score is ridiculously out of hand.

Sham on the Cards fans that left.

Boss, you will remember this for sure. Did a lot of the crowd in Buffalo leave during the '92 playoff game when the Bills came back to beat the Oilers? I recall watching the game on tv at the time but cannot remember anything about the crowd.

I hardly ever leave a game early. The two recent ones i have was Game 5 TAM-PIT last season. Left at the end of the 2nd. I refused to watch a team that didn't care. The other was Brodeur breaking Sawchuk's shutout record. I refused to watch the last 5 minutes of that game. History or not, i wasn't sticking around to watch that shit...

Came close to once. Went to game 2 of the '98 SCF and the Wings were down. My dad wanted to leave but I refused. Needless to say, the Wings came back to win in OT. Alot of people did leave before the end of the game.

I almost left Pirates/Dodgers on September 24 or 25, 2009 early. I had to run an event later that evening, and I wasn't going to make it back in time unless I left right then.

So I called someone and asked her if she could start the event for me while I was still on my way home. She agreed to it, so I stayed.

The Pirates scored something like 4 or 5 runs in the ninth to win. There was a bases-clearing triple involved in there somewhere, too, I believe to tie the game. It was pretty awesome.

I'm going to rep you because I had a feeling someone would ask. The answer is YES a lot did even though if you ask the fans they ALL say they stayed. I was pissed about them leaving.

Side note about that game....I was not there and the game was not on local TV. I was listening to the game and when the second half started with the Oilers intercepting a pass and taking it back for a TD to make it 35-3 I said "We are done" my wife called me a pessimist and I said " Cindy if the Bills come back to win this game, I will run naked through a hive of killer Bee's" Thank God she didn't make me pay up on that bet ! But I never turned the game off.

I remember watching that game and loving the Bills comeback. As a Steelers fan i had no love for the Oilers. lol

I did leave a Bills-Steelers playoff game at halftime (95?) i think. My wife at the time had never been to a Steeler game, and it was bitter cold and she couldn't handle it...

Your bold part makes me laugh, because everybody in Pittsburgh claims they were at Three Rivers for the Immaculate Reception game. If that was true, the attendance would have been about 500,000 that day...

Believe me, it pains me to root for the fucking team that my team lost the WS too just 5 years ago, but I hate that classless douchebag Nelson Cruz and refuse to root for his team, which happens to be the last team to knock my team out of the playoffs.

So, Go Cards!

Cards winning the Series is like the Ravens winning the Super Bowl, or the Caps winning the Cup...fortunately these things don't happen that often......

Normally I don't complain about the umpires, but they seem to clearly be favouring the Cardinals.
