I think that was the worst episode ever. I like them both, but those two characters are not strong enough to be the only two in the episode.

Too fucking slow...

Game of Thrones moves between tons of story lines and doesn't take forever to advance the plot. Tonight's episode should have been 10-15 minutes combined with last week's episode and next week's episode.

Some nice moments at the end, but c'mon, a whole episode? Ridiculous. You're boring me, Walking Dead.

Agree 100%. I think there was enough material there for maybe half an episode. They could have bounced back and forth between them and 1 of the other groups. Mute Daryl was really getting on my nerves and reminding me of last season's Michonne. Glad that appears to be the end of it.

There were some slow spots , but as a whole I thought it moved along pretty well.

I reckon the only thing that could have saved last nights episode was a sex scene :noidea:

Well Beth didnt break into song but they did have a 'wonderful' song playing over the last few minutes.

The first half was just stupid. Did that camp look safe at all? Good location at all? I know he had hub caps 10 feet away to give them a 3 second heads up before being attacked but still. Then they move onto the golf club house where they go in, go downstairs then go back upstairs of course setting off a clock to make noise.
Then move onto the cabin for moonshine and some silly drinking game. (Eww Darrell doesnt was his hands after taking a leak!) Then some really bad melodramatic over acting.
Then finally a good scene on the porch. Out of all we saw that's all it really needed.

I really should switch the order I watch this and True Detective but with TD having no ads its easier to watch that first.

I loved in the overacting scenes that Daryl did (which is pretty much everything that actor does) he called out beth on singing songs lol.

I liked the episode even though its a wasted one for the whole storyline. I do believe that the trailer was daryls family mobile home. that was pretty telling for this backstory and I liked how he was just nothing before that.

I also think they foreshadowed Beths death with her saying you will miss me when Im gone. at least IMO I think shes toast.

this season has not been one of the better seasons and I blame Gimple (the new exec)

We might disagree on something! I think Game Of Thrones has as much filler and slow episodes as anything on TV right now. I watch it because when they have a good episode its often really good, but I guess I have been bored by about half the over episodes since season one.

I want to see the giant lady (who one could find naked pictures of if one desired to) in a scene with Dinklage.

I also think they foreshadowed Beths death with her saying you will miss me when Im gone. at least IMO I think shes toast.

That would have been the perfect time for her to break into a slowed down southern version of that Anna Kendrick "cups - miss me when I am gone song".

i want to drink with you

Probably coming to Whistler in 2014!

My biggest disappointment was when asked about peach schnapps, daryl didnt respond "its a real legspreader"

The guy has one chick with him, who he's protected, who wants to get closer to him, who wants to get drunk with him, who he's alone with in a cabin in the woods, and who wants to play "I Never" and he somehow can't get laid in that situation?!?

;)

There are 5 groups now and I think Daryl and Beth are the least interesting, at least for now. For one, they are the smallest group. I don't know if there are any 2 characters right now that could have an entire show exclusive to themselves and have it be interesting. Also they are the only group that doesn't have some sort of agenda aside from surviving and tolerating each other.

A few weeks ago I would have said that the Rick & Carl group was the least interesting but at least Michonne has been added to that mix, they encountered a hostile group of humans, and now have some sense of direction as they make their way to Terminus.

I suppose there was the whole going up against the Oscars thing too. Maybe they didn't want to bother trying to compete and save their best stuff for another week.

Every show has some filler episodes though. Frequently they involve minor characters and don't have any real story, which frees the main actors, directors, etc. to focus on the more important episodes without missing any deadlines for a new episode to be delivered.

The one that always comes to mind most for me when thinking of filler episodes is the season 3 episode of Lost where we meet the two characters who fight over the diamonds and die at the end.

Everything coming out of the mid-season break has been a disappointment to me. Too much focus on minor characters. The story has barely advanced at all during the past 4 episodes and they devoted an entire episode to two characters who aren't in the source material (though they're so far from the comics at this point anyhow that I don't know if it matters).

They'd better pick it up soon or they're going to start seeing a big hit in their ratings I think.

Haha I actually enjoyed that episode for some strange reason. But it was totally filler! The main plot had nothing to do with main story of the series. I think the only thing that came out of that episode was Charlie confessed to Sun that he and Sawyer staged her kidnapping, but that could have came up any number of ways.

When I think of filler episodes the first one that comes to my mind is "The Fly" episode on Breaking Bad. :L
