I think the "mission" is Eugene's story. The "brutality" is probably the Hunters, but it might also be Carl dealing with the crazy girl. The "faith" may be the introduction of Gabriel.

I doubt we will see Negan or Jesus/Paul until late S5 or S6. Still a lot to do before the go there.

nice predictions. Im with this

After the long wait, I was pretty disappointed with tonight's episode. That might have been my least favourite episode since they left the farm. The Michonne dream was pretty cool, but that was about the only part I liked. The Carl being a little teenage rebel was kind of boring other than his mention of Shane. Next week's looks much better.

After re-watching the mid-season finale immediately before it, I'm pretty sure it was Tara who drove off in the bus. Glen was in no condition to drive and never would have left. All other characters (excluding extras) were accounted for. Tara ran from the battle just a few moments before and would have had no connection to anyone but her girlfriend who told her to go somewhere safe and she would find her.

In which Carl learns he ain't all that, but still gets the pudding.

- felt bad to see the last look at herschel at the beginning.
- I know Mischonne has the escorts, but why the hack can she walk among them? calmness factor?
- "It's for you"..... innuendo?

build-up episode for sure.
next few will be scattered until the gang gets back together

Very very very disappointing episode imo

Highlighted how weak an actor the kid who plays carl is

Maybe i would have thought different if i watched walking dead before and not after watching true detective tonight :noidea:

Yup. And i actually didnt mind that issue of the comics/the subject matter of last nights episode but they put it in the hands of a young actor that doesnt have the chops to pull it off and thats where it fell short imo

The opening scene, with Michone putting the sword through the head was awesome in both versions (dif head, of course, but the meaning was similar - no love subtext in the TV version).

Anyway, I am going to reread 50 tonight, since this ep was supposed to cover issues 49 AND 50.

I just don't find the Rick/Carl relationship all that intriguing. I don't mind a bit of it, which is pretty much what's been happening for the last season and a half, but to dedicate pretty much an entire episode to it I thought was pretty boring. I'm very confident that I'll enjoy next week's show much more.

The Rick/Carl relationship is a pretty major theme of the comics. It will continue to be a large theme in the TV show moving forward.

Next ep should be almost completely fresh material, though, since it deals with character who either do not exist in the comics, or are so different that they might as well not exist. The only comic-characters that still reflect their comic-selves in any way that we will see next week are Maggie and Glenn.

I thought last episode was great. Chandler Riggs may not be the greatest kid actor but he was solid for what I saw.

:agree:

Same here... pretty boring IMO. I like Rick, but Carl is a bit player to me regarding my interest in the story.

That was be the best plot point in quite a while... I would rather have seen the gov live over Carl. He is just really unlikeable.

Agreed, I was expecting at some point in this latest episode for him to throw his dads cop hat away. I keep wondering if and when they are gonna bring Carol back, she just went away at some point she's gotta come back right?
