I didn't realize he was still alive either Chris - I really enjoyed his work as well. RIP Mr. Bradbury.

A good night's sleep, or a ten-minute brawl, or a pint of chocolate ice cream, or all three together, is good medicine.

Great author, F451 is one of my all-time favorite books.

The Martian Chronicles is in my goodreads queue at the moment. Maybe I'll start that this weekend.

Author Ray Bradbury died at 91 this morning. I really enjoy reading his short stories, and to be perfectly honest, I didn't even know he was still alive.

Ray Bradbury, author of 'Fahrenheit 451,' dies - The Denver Post

That was the first thing I thought when I read the title as well, although I guess that's not true anymore. When they made us read the "classics" in high school, Bradbury was the only author that I could read and actually almost enjoy the novel. IIRC I read F-451 and the Illustrated Man.

Edit: I actually didn't hate John Steinbeck's work either, but those were the only 2.

saw one article titled
"Ray Bradbury dies; Miley Cyrus engaged"
‎yeah equal importance to the art world.
I got to spend several hours with Ray Bradybury when I was in high school 1982. He did not drive. He was going to be a speaker at my school but the train would take too long. A friend of mine was chosen to go pick him up in Santa Barbara and asked me to ride along. On the way back we talk poetry and sports and Epcot Center. He told us he didn't want to talk books (his books) on the trip because he would get enough of that at the lecture. At the time I knew who he was but I learned so much more on the trip
