He received 180 days jail sentence and 10 years probation for intoxication manslaughter. I thought he would receive a stiffer sentence. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of drunk driving in 2009 and spent 30 days in jail. He didn't learn his lesson from it.

Is that the cowboy player? If so it might have to do with the victims family asking for no time. Not saying it's right, but remember hearing about them saying he had suffered enough or something..

I would agree with this if he weren't a multiple offender. Also, if I were a family member, and another family member said that he was forgiven, I'd be upset that one spoke for all if I wanted a longer sentence. Having said that, maybe I would've come to the same conclusion? I'm sure they talked about it and have similar ideas.
