I love baseball...Luckily I have the Orioles here to cheer for. Quite a team. Quite a team.

You've got more immediate hope than the Pirates, Orioles or Athletics, though. Especially now that you've got Smoak on your roster and Ackley on the way.

True, especially with Felix, Ichiro, Gutierrez, and Lopez already here.

actually they are up 2-1 not 1-0. But McLouth was pretty good last year, not so much this year. Batting .176 but in only 170 ABs

I never expected him to sustain his pace from the last two years, but I also didn't expect him to be that bad. I was thinking he'd be a .240-.260 guy.

I still have a lot of hope for Morton, though. His stuff is way too good to be that bad.

True, especially with Felix, Ichiro, Gutierrez, and Lopez already here.

Interesting note, Ichiro led the league in hits in the 2000s decade with 2030. Only two players in history had more hits in a decade, Pete Rose with 2045 in the 1970s and Rogers Hornsby with 2085 in the 1920s. Also important to note is that Ichiro is the only one of those three players to not play in every season in the decade in which he had 2000 or more hits. Had he played that season (which was 2000, the season before he entered MLB), based on his average hits per season, he would have had about 2256 hits.

The more you know.

=)

How's Matt Wieters coming along? Kid's got big talent. He should be a Pirate though.

He is good, maybe a bit of a sophomore slump but its hard to tell with the awful bats around him.
At least he is learning. Learning to do what it takes. An untimely error, baserunning blunder, swinging at three straight pitches in the dirt with the tying run on third, basically whatever it takes to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
