So I'm depressing myself and watching the highlights from the Pens 12 game win streak (really, it's unhealthy)...and I just realized how freaking spoiled I've been with watching Sid on my team. It's ridiculous. *sigh* Just watched his hatty from the Calgary game, he was a penalty shot (which he had in the game) away from almost scoring 5 ways (on 4 goals). DAMN YOU STECKEL...DAMMMMNNN YOOUUUUU

yeah, basically this. North America and some Central American and Caribbean nations. Winner of Concacaf (and runner up, I think) get to go to the World Cup. Unless something goes very, very wrong, it's US and Mexico that go.
The Concacaf representatives then proceed to regularly get slaughtered at the World Cup.

Well, this isn't World Cup Qualifying, it's just a CONCACAF tournament. WCQ starts in about a year. They start in a group of 4, play each other twice(1H 1A), then the top 2 move on to play in a group of 8 who place each other twice, then the top 2 go to the WC. The 3rd place team plays a home and home 2 game series vs I think someone from South America for the right to go to the WC.

Yes, I know it wasn't a cheap shot, but he could've avoided contact, that I believe. It's more the fact that he was the vessel that ended what was going to be a MAGICAL run from Sid this season that angers me. Could've been anyone on any team and I'd hate them just a little. Stecks is a stand up guy, I know that.
