OT : Hostage situation in DC

Thankfully this thing ended with no one else hurt except the gunman...who SWAT members shot and killed....this guy wanted the Discovery Channel to air his grievances about how humans are destroying the Earth...here is a brief excerpt from his "manifesto"....

“Nothing is more important than saving ... the Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants, Froggies, Turtles, Apes, Raccoons, Beetles, Ants, Sharks, Bears, and, of course, the Squirrels. The humans? The planet does not need humans.”

Froggies?....and what makes the squirrels so fuckin special?....

Very glad the hostages are ok. The guy may have been insane and don't get me wrong, I in no way think that waving a gun around and taking hostages is a good thing, but that guy was right about a few things. In particular, curbing the human population growth in the world.

IMHO, if we were truly worried about over-population, we wouldn't have killed off our space program. Sooner or later (my guess is much later) we'll need to get off Earth.
