OT: GTA V

I got it at the midnight release, but I haven't gotten around to downloading it until now. Anyone play it yet? Does it live up to all the hype? From what I've seen it looks pretty sweet. Almost done downloading so I'll give you my reviews soon.

I have heard it is HUGE and an awesome feature is you can bounce around from character to character at any point, and whichever character you jump into, they might be in the middle of doing something so you immediately might get thrown into something.

I heard up to 3 characters in the game you can be? Even if you're on a mission with all 3 you can switch between them during the mission.

Sounds awesome. Worry though as previous GTA games, it gets repetitive and some missions are so extremely damn hard it makes you give up.

I always hold off on codes as long as possible. With far fetched hopes that I could maybe beat the game without cheats, but it never lasts.

I just played a little bit. Killed a bunch of cops, stole a Ferrari, went to a strip club, got all drunk, got a lap dance, felt up the stripper, got kicked out of the club, killed a bouncer, then killed a bunch of Mexicans. Also crazy how many times they drop n-bombs in the game. Yup, a good time so far.

I read there is a new check point system so that in hard missions you don't have to keep driving half an hour if you die at some point. I have it but haven't played yet.

I love the games and actually try to be as moral as I can, usually. The apppeal to me is the huge world and all of the activities one can do. When I play after a few drinks I like to ride around listening to some music and occasionally going over ramps.

I thought the point of the games was to kill as many hookers and cops as you can until the police ultimately take you out.

I didn't realize it was out and went over to gamestop to use a buy two get one free coupon I had. chose Forza Horizon, Skyrim and some Wii thing for my daughter ("the one with the little pets, daddy"). The Cashier asked me what system I wanted GTA for. I was the only person to have come into the store that day not to buy it. He said there were lines out the door starting at midnight. They closed at 2am and opened again at 9am, and constant lines.

Crazy how much money these things make.

And I will be in line at midnight on Dec 5 when Gran Turismo 6 comes out...

im not sure what its like now for xbox but the original xbox 360 lost money on every unit they sold but they made so much in games that it didnt matter.

Microsoft is trying to grab money in any way, like the fact that you have to pay five bucks a month just to watch Netflix that you already pay someone else for. I just bought a 360 and that irritates the crap outta me.

I just hope the console makers move away from this stupid idea of locking games down to "one and done" thing trying to kill the used game market. I'm not a hardcore gamer, and can usually wait for some games. Saves me a TON of money. Plus it gives me a place to unload some old stuff and make room in the rack.

Yeah, it is kind of nice not having to start all over again. Lots of short missions so you don't feel you lose much by dying.

There's more to this game than just killing cops & beating up hookers. Really it's about the missions. Tells an interesting story in fact. 3 guys just trying to make a few bucks, by whatever opportunities come their way.
