I wonder what happened. Very sad RIP Garrett.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Garrett Reid, the oldest son of Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid, was found dead Sunday morning in his room at training camp at Lehigh University.

The Eagles held Sunday morning's practice, but Andy Reid wasn't present. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman told reporters that Reid asked the team to go forward with training camp.

Edward Schupp, Chief of Police at Lehigh, said a 911 call was made at 7:20 a.m. Schupp said Garrett Reid was deceased upon a policeman's arrival at the campus dormitory. Schupp added "there were no suspicious activities."

Players gathered for a team prayer before the walkthrough began, and were told not to speak to reporters afterward.

29 is so young to go. He'd battled drug abuse earlier in his life. Unlucky young man. Goes to show that being born into a wealthy family doesn't mean that everything will be roses.

Condolences to family and friends.

Man, I saw that Andy wasn't at practice this morning, but didn't know until know the reasons. Terrible. And he was at camp? Man.

Unlucky young man?

Here's a guy who's 29 years old with his own room at Eagles training camp. His dad has been coaching in the NFL for a long time. I imagine life was pretty good for him growing up. He repays his family by selling drugs out of his parents home & now it appears he killed himself.

I'm sorry, but I'm not about to feel bad for this guy. I feel for his parents & the rest of his family. Garrett Reid threw his life away.

I know first hand the pain and agony that the Reids are going through. Not a pretty scene.

I'm with Tox.....

To much of Andy Reid's time had to be put on his boys because of the drug abuse....they always made the news at least twice every off season.

But then again maybe Reid should of walked away from football and taken care of his family!!!

I agree with you about Reid walking away. However there comes a time when your kids grow up & have to make their own decisions. Garrett wasn't a kid. He was a grown man. He chose to do the things he did. I believe he would have done them know matter what his parents said or did to help him.

I get all this but I just think that there is something very wrong with a person who could have a tremendous life if he could just stay off of drugs. To me that's sad.

I guess I just have more pity than hate for drug addicts and feel bad for them.

I completely understand your frustration with people like Garrett Reid but I still feel it's a sad and unfortunate story when a person throws their life away.

Ummm... 29 is an adult. You are a parent for life, but you don't have to have your children suck your teat into the grave.

I don't hate him or pity him. Garrett Reid had all the advantages anyone could dream of & he goes out like this?? To do this at Eagles training camp is beyond me. It tells me he had very little respect for his father.

Addicts dont respect themselves so they really cant respect anyone else in a true sense.

Prayers are with the family though. Thye have to deal with the grief
